What part of CT are you in? I have some contacts there. I could check about mTBI doctors. I lived in Naugatuck when I was in high school (1969-1973). My neuro in Waterbury was good but he would be dead by now. But, I do know others there.

I live in the hartford area. I think I might look into Yale in New Haven. Ill see what happens on Tuesday and go from there. I will tell docs Im less than pleased at the lack of communication for sure...

So sorry to hear about your difficulties. My husband was also not working when I got injured and BOY did it add a whole new level of stress to our household.

I can also relate to the doctors not really having anything helpful to add. I learned most of what I know about concussions and PCS from the Internet, not from my doctors.

Ask about elavil (amitriptyline) for the headaches. It is commonly prescribed at a fairly low dose for PCS headaches and has helped mine immensely.

The supplements that have been most helpful for me are Algal DHA (900 mg), acetyl-l-carnitine (500 mg), Vitamin B-100 Complex, and Vitamin D3 (2,000 IU).

I also found this article about Post Traumatic Headache very helpful. I sent a copy to my doctor ahead of an appointment and asked if we could discuss it when I was there next.

I had minor depression before my injury but had a big increase in depression & anxiety after. I was already on a low dose of Prozac (20 mg) but got it increased to 40 mg which helped even out my moods some.

Good luck, and hang in there.
