There's probably a good chance that video games slows down the recovery process; mildly or seriously.

For me, I have a hard time playing the games that I used to like because my anxiety gets the best of me. I scream, jump, and freak out to the smallest of things in a first-person shooter and I never did that before (even to a horror game). My heart beat goes up and I cannot handle it. It's definitely a sad thing to deal with.

In general I cannot handle too much of any game that works my brain too hard. I get mentally exhausted very quickly.

I just can't play period. Not even for 5 minutes. My brain gets overloaded immediately and I become a foggy space cadet anywhere from 10 minute to 2 days...or sometimes more. It sucks. I hope this eventually passes.

This really scares me... my bf was totally in love with his video games & hasn't touched them in 2 weeks. Right now he hasn't mentioned wanting to play them but I'm really scared he'll get depressed when he tries since he has the "fog" on almost a daily basis. :(

I was an avid gamer. I would make multiple trips to GameStop to buy games a week. Now I've got an expensive gaming system and hundreds of dollars worth of games and controllers that I can't do anything with.

I'm 6-almost-7 months out and I have the fog on a daily basis but it becomes unbearable if I play games or do anything that requires me to think.

Do you think it's from the fast movement in the game or just having to concentrate on what your doing that causes the fog?

On a positive note, it does seem to be hit or miss. Not everyone is reporting that they get the "fog" when they play video games, as I'm sure you've read on this topic. I guess it just depends on the location of the injury. I was hit in the back of my head and for some reason the left frontal lobe showed damage...maybe from when I hit the ground, or maybe my brain bounced forward.

I really hope he is one of the lucky ones that can still play. Best of luck to you and your's.

Sorry, just seen your last post.

I think it could be from both. Following the movements on the screen and thinking about my next move is probably what does me in. I've even tried playing a crappy 2D fighting game on my X-Box and it caused the fog after just one match.
