Eowyn,
I buy lot of stuff from Amazon and they do have some. I have to be very careful because of my irritable bowel which increases my anxiety I think.

Thanks for the tip and sure give a try. I also keep seeing this commercial from Centrum and not sure how it works.

Day 5.

Yesterday and today have been...weird. I'm not sure if it was due to side effects from the medication, or TBI/PCS related (hard to tell the difference sometimes). Yesterday - I woke up completely out of it. I felt very detached and disassociated. Later in the day I experienced what I think might be "derealization". I just felt like I was in a dream. I could see everything happening around me but it didn't seem or feel real. I had errands to run too which didn't make my day very fun at all. So of course all this caused massive anxiety. It wore off sometime between taking the kids to their doctor's appointment and going to pay the cable bill.

Today, I woke up feeling the way I did yesterday. No derealization, but just out of it and detached. My memory is at an all-time low..and I'm having a different kind of brain fog. Again, not sure if its due to the medication or TBI. As far as the anxiety...it comes and goes throughout the day in waves, here and there. I think this is getting worse as the days go by...so maybe the med is starting to poop out on me? I'm gonna try and stick with it for an entire month, and if that doesn't work I might see if I can get my dosage increased. If that doesn't work, well...time for a new medication ...

It seems the only time I get full relief is right after I take it before bed and the hour I stay up before I go to sleep.

On a positive note, I'm sleeping a lot better and I'm eating a lot better too. This med is known is cause hunger and weight gain...which is good in my case. I've lost a lot of weight since my injury due to anxiety and what-not.

I decided to not take my dose of Mirtazapine tonight.

I'm trying to get to the bottom of why my symptoms (mainly cognitive) have gotten worse. Two nights ago I actually had a couple hours of feeling normal. Tonight, the same thing. I noticed its happening right around the time I normally take my dosage. So tonight, I'm skipping my dose to see how I feel tomorrow.

This drug isn't working anyways. I was told I'd see results in 2-3 weeks. Its been 3 weeks and my anxiety is either the same or worse. On the bright side, I've actually been sleeping ALOT better and eating better. I've also had less panic attacks than before.

*crosses fingers*

What happened: I was randomly assaulted from behind in June of 2011. I was knocked unconscious for an unknown amount of time (less than 30 minutes) and have no memory of the event. CT scan showed contusion and hematoma of the left frontal lobe. I spent 3 days in the hospital. Diagnosed with Post-Concussion Syndrome in September 2011. Currently have Medicaid, Medicare and SSI.

Current symptoms: Brain fog, mild memory issues, problems with spontaneity, occasional spacing out, word finding difficulties, tinnitus in right ear and some other things that I can't explain.

Life after the brain injury: 4 years after the injury, I'm engaged to my beautiful girlfriend of 5 years, I'm the CEO of my own business, Notorious Labs, I've taught myself how to program complex games and apps which is a feat I never thought I'd accomplish and now live a semi-normal life with very mild PCS symptoms.

Slowly but surely regaining my life back.
