One of my favorite things to with my free time is play X-Box 360. Since my symptoms started to show, it's been impossible for me to play. About 3-5 minutes in to a game, I get a serious case of brain fog. The longer I play, the longer the brain fog lingers. Not too long ago I spent all day playing a game, not noticing the brain fog at first and I was stuck in a cloud for 3-4 days. After that day I decided to hang up the controller and take a break from video games. My mind has been so much clearer...It sucks, I really miss playing games. But I noticed something...When I play games on the computer, it doesn't seem to happen, unless I play for more than an hour. It only seems to be when I play the X-Box 360, even on a standard definition TV. The games I play on the PC are low quality though, that's probably why...I play a 2D multiplayer pool game and an adventure game with low quality 3D graphics. Less thinking involved and not as many "bells and whistles".
I don't know, just thought I'd share that with you guys. |

Sorry to hear that.
In my case, perhaps because my TBI is more mild, I can use the PS3 when I visit my brother on the weekend (or every other weekend) without a problem. Maybe only playing on the weekend (since I don't have the console) helps. 16 months of playing since the TBI. My job is to make indie video game art/animation as well- Maybe after your injury heals a bit more in the coming months or years, you can go back to it. |

I can say that you might want to just give yourself some time before going full on into video games. Chances are you just need to let your brain heal itself a little before getting too much into it.
I have had PCS for quite awhile now but I still can play video games, as long as I keep it in moderation. If I play all day, my brain isn't too thrilled. I think that might be true for even a healthy brain. lol. You might want to just figure out how much time you can handle and ease in from there. |

Weird, I guess everyone's injury is different. I don't get headaches or anything, just the stupid brain fog and crazy anxiety/panic attacks. I've got a list of things that bring on the brain fog and video games is one of them. Whhhhhyyyy???

I second the advice to back off on the video games - perhaps even completely for a while. Gotta give your brain a chance to recover.

Yeah your right. I've already hung up the controller...I just occasionally play some games on my cell phone and a couple weak games on the PC that don't require much thinking and aren't visually striking. Doesn't seem to effect me. Wish this PCS crap would be over already...6 months and counting!

Haven't tried to watch a movie in the theater yet. I already know what will happen lol.. Instead of the headache I get the brain fog when I play or even watch someone play the 360.

I know exactly what you mean! I can't play on my PS3 since my injury or pc games. Which I'm gutted about as I'm a serious sims addict. I can even get brain fog from simply watching tv or, my latest discovery, drawing!
I might try to go to the cinema soon though, fingers crossed! |

If you go to the cinema, I would bring ear plugs and a pair of shades just in case . The sound is so loud in the theater that you'd probably still be able to hear the movie through the ear plugs.
