Hana,
This is an old thread from 2012. Maybe you can start a new thread about your vision problems. Use the button at the top left of the index page. I have visual over-stim problems too. I do not do well in rooms with too much visual on the walls. Many here have been seen by neuro-ophthalmologists, some with better results than others. My best to you.

John,
I've had a lot of the same issues as you. I am a college student (now taking a full year off) and athlete as well. I am also used to being on the go constantly both physically and mentally so this has been the toughest thing I have ever faced. I also was injured in may, and found that I gradually declined, hitting a low point in november. Like you my worst symptoms are visual - they are constant, and frankly anxiety provoking. Since December I have begun treating my anxiety with 100 mg of zoloft as well as therapy. I essentially had to come to terms with the fact that anxiety wasn't helping me and that regardless of what happened to me, I was just going to have to accept it, relinquish control, and try to appreciate what I still could do even if I rarely got out of the house. I also have found that by letting myself do a little more, and especially making an effort to be around people more rather than avoiding it, I am feel more like myself again and I have seen an improvement in my symptoms. I Still have a very long way to go and I still deal with some anxiety. Getting anxiety under control is a big win- Not only does it usually help recovery but your also going to have a lot better of a time coping with it. Best of luck man Jamie |

John,
I have had 2 concussions and my second one is what really impacted my vision. I find it comforting that there are other people out there who understand what I am going through, and I believe you would feel the same when I share my experience. About 6 months after my second concussion, the symptoms hit hard. Loss of concentration, confusion, dizziness, and vision problems. My vision is "challenged" to an extent where I would see double/blur and not fight it. It is less painful to have distorted vision than to fix it. The distorted vision, in turn, leads to dizziness, headaches, and confusion... Do you feel that people around you don't realize what is going on with you? And they keep talking to you like nothing is happening, but deep inside you feel so much pain in your eyes? You are not alone. The important thing is to be hopeful that one day you will be able to see normally again, to play sports, last throughout long evenings, and live a normal life again. Unfortunately for me the tunnel is still dark. But there is hope. There is always hope. F. Quote:
