Thanks for this.
This is horrible. I watched Kyle stare at the punt return and let it roll by. I can easily understand how he could have be unable to comprehend the fact that the ball had touched his knee. The stress of the situation likely caused a brain freeze. Punt returns and other special teams play is the most risky of all football events. The closing speeds are just too high. Understanding this concussion history puts this event into complete perspective. The NFL needs to step up and make intense impact events a serious penalty.

Seriously.
I cannot believe a) he chose to play after four concussions; b) the coaches let him play; c) people actually used his medical history to sabotage him. Wouldn't that be illegal conduct in most workplaces??

I think the league needs to look at those comments and replay the game to see if they see evidence of malicious hits, especially targeting his helmet/head.
This was a very sad day for professional football.

This is awful. It literally makes me sick. It's bad enough to go after a guy's bad knee and potentially end his careen, but to go after his concussion situation is malicious. Sad day for football indeed. Time to gain a little respect for another human being.
I would like to see more professional athletes not just speak out about concussions, but tell the world, how their day to day lives are after they're forced to retire. All the sports media, players and fans see is that a guy can't play his sport anymore. They all need to be educated on the potential long term, life altering risks.
