Default Dealing with PCS and looking after small children

Is there anyone out there who is dealing with PCS and looking after littlies? I have a 1 year old and a 3 year old and am finding the natural energy and noise (!) of little ones hard to cope with at times. I have a great support network.. but just wondered if anyone had tips or ideas for coping strategies. Thanks!

I only have grandchildren 3 days a week. The youngest 2 1/2 is here a full day. My biggest suggestion is nap whenever they do. Ear plugs that muffle the noise but still let you hear if they need you would be a plus.

I only have one - 4 year old boy. I take him outside whenever I can so I don't have to hear all the loud noises he creates.

I also limit the sound of the TV. Quiet activities are great - like drawing or Lego building.

My son is in school during the week, but I am primarily responsible for him on the weekends while my husband works. I have been taking shameless advantage of the neighbors by letting him play at his friends' houses.

Thanks everyone for your help - might be worth that investment in ear plugs I think!

Hi

I posted about this a while ago so it might be worth looking it up. I've really struggled with caring for my 2 young children (now 5 and 6.5) since my accident nearly 1.5 years ago.

I'd say the younger they are the more you have to play 'quiet voice' games with them to take their shrill pitch down quickly when it starts to have a bad effect on you. As they get older you can explain when you're having a wobble / bad day and appeal to them to turn their volume and demands down for a while.

Plus I'd avoid indoor play dates with other children as much as you can until you start to recover significantly.

I now send my husband to the children's birthday parties that happen on weekends!
