Does any one else wonder why they are all doing all they are doing to stop these sports when it seems like doctors still just say that concussions are not really a problem and that they should just go away after a week or two.

I don't anymore! I never realized how bad it could be even though when my daughter was 2 she fell 12 feet on her head on concrete. She had a 4" skull fracture and post traumatic seizures for one day. Otherwise, she is fine. BUT my 14 y/o gets a "simple" hit during football and he's all screwed up!

I'm making it my mission to educate the teachers and parents I come into contact with as well as the kids who still come to see my son (not many, i might add).

One of the problems with lack of concussion awareness is the use of tests like ImPACT. It give athletes and parents a false sense of security.

The true impact of concussions in sports is not noticeable until the person is in their 40's. In the mean time, the thrill of the game over-rides any reasonable concern.

Thanks! I just sent a message to that doctor in the video who said concussions at "10,11 or 12" make you particularly predisposed to future concussions in the long term. I had one at 9 which definitely had that effect but noone ever believes me.Would love to get my hands on the evidence he based that statement on, when I bring it up most people, including health professionals, stare at me like I've just said my concussions are caused by aliens

Those two kids running into each other made my head physically hurt did they have to show it twice?

Just found this also. Just one of the things that makes me wonder if I am just insane or if the whole "doctor" world is lying or stupid. It seems to me that from the beginning for me every doctor has told me that I must be imagining or making up what my head was feeling like.
