Default Do I see a doc?-

I guess the fact that it took about 10 trys to register on this site may mean I belong here - I'm wiped just from that.

About 10 days ago I had a ski accident- ended up landing on top of my head on a tree stump. I hit pretty hard, but didn't black out, or become to confused, vacant, etc. Neck and back were quite sore for 5-6 days, but that's pretty sorted out now.

So I still have a few typical symptoms, noise and light sensitivity. The rest is hard to articulate, other than I feel like I can only use about 30% of my brain without feeling overwhelmed, pressure, a pulsing, etc. In short, it hurts to think.

I haven't seen a doc yet as I know it's mostly a questions of time, and unlike most of you folks it's only been about 10 days. As things don't seem acute or worsening, is there any point in seeing a doc? Thanks in advance.

Arc1,

Welcome to NeuroTalk. It sounds like you had quite a skiing fall.

I agree about the questionable value of not seeing a doctor. The only value to seeing a doctor is to get the concussion in your medical record. This can benefit you in the long term if your symptoms persist. Doctors can be doubtful if you have symptoms/complaints and there is no prior report of concussion in the medical record.

What have you been doing to take care of yourself and your concussion symptoms?

Thanks Mark-

I've been resting as much as I can, but can't avoid work completely. I work mostly from home - so I've been avoiding client visits and direct conversation.
I can communicate via email, but any sort of compex conversation is a real challenge.

Default Hello Arc

I want to welcome you to Neruo Talk. There are alot of TBI injuries that people have on this site. Please go see your doctor. These kinds of injuries should be checked out quickly. Brain injury isn't something to take lightly. You are having symptoms, that is reason enough to go visit the doc. You will also be put more at ease, with having it checked out. There can be problems further down the road, and it is best to have it documented. Again welcome to Neruo Talk. I hope alot of others with this kind of injury will come into the dicussion. Take care, ginnie
