Default NUCCA / Upper Cervical Adj. Success?

I've done some searching and scanning here on this topic. I see it recommended, but has anyone had any specific improvement or success from the upper cervical / atlas adjustments? In particular I'm considering it for dizziness and headaches (in addition to current vestibular therapy and active release therapy).

Thanks!

Female, 44 years old. Several concussions over the years - the first was most severe (kicked by horse), recovered well. Last 2 concussions Oct, 2009 and were two weeks apart. I attempted to return to working 12 hrs/wk (working from home), but was unsuccessful. Currently applying for medical disability.

Primary Symptoms: dizziness, light & sound sensitivity, confusion, difficulty focusing attention, headaches, depression, exteme fatigue, some insomnia and occassional speach problems - stammer, halted speach as I try to find the word or thought and using incorrect words. Trouble focusing on conversation if there is other noise around - especially other conversations.

NUCCA had a very positive impact on my symptoms. I always feel better after my adjustments. I recently met another TBI survivor at my neurologist's office and referred him to my NUCCA doctor. He told me it improved his dizziness and headaches.

There is also another TBI survivor that my specialist sees that reported her dizziness also improved.

NUCCA has helped me with the following symptoms: Vision, anxiety, fatigue, my sense of taste and cognitive problems. I'm overall more clear-headed when I walk out of there and usually lasts until a little before my next appointment.

I can't tell you personally if it will improve your headaches and dizziness. I don't have those problems...thank God...but unfortunately, my cognitive problems make up for that, lol. Anyone want to trade symptoms? I will gladly take headaches and dizziness for a low functioning brain.

Its worth a try...especially if your insurance covers it.

Unfortunately, my current setback is so severe...its not helping my cognitive problems like it usually does. Buuuut, its still helping with everything else.

Good luck.

What happened: I was randomly assaulted from behind in June of 2011. I was knocked unconscious for an unknown amount of time (less than 30 minutes) and have no memory of the event. CT scan showed contusion and hematoma of the left frontal lobe. I spent 3 days in the hospital. Diagnosed with Post-Concussion Syndrome in September 2011. Currently have Medicaid, Medicare and SSI.

Current symptoms: Brain fog, mild memory issues, problems with spontaneity, occasional spacing out, word finding difficulties, tinnitus in right ear and some other things that I can't explain.

Life after the brain injury: 4 years after the injury, I'm engaged to my beautiful girlfriend of 5 years, I'm the CEO of my own business, Notorious Labs, I've taught myself how to program complex games and apps which is a feat I never thought I'd accomplish and now live a semi-normal life with very mild PCS symptoms.

Slowly but surely regaining my life back.

I finally went to a NUCCA last week after reading about it on this forum. It was a very gentle procedure. In fact it was so gentle that I can't figure out how it would even affect my alignment. The chiro that I saw has been doing this for over 20yrs, so I imagine he knew what he was doing. Unfortunately, I didn't feel any major differences after the adjustment. My hope was that it might help with dizziness, minor headaches, fasciculations, and the odd noises my neck makes when I rotate my head. I will say though, I spent close to an hour in a Target store the other day and I didn't get any weird dizzy or off-balance feelings. I didn't even get annoyed by the lights. So maybe it helped a little? Not sure, but I'll probably give it one more try before giving up.

You might find it helpful. It just didn't make quite the impact I was hoping it would for myself.
