He did note the report that I am currently on 160 mg of Propranalol for Migraines and I don't sleep well so I am taking Melatonin. My testing was 8:30 am so might have had something to do with it.
The Beta Blocker alone drops BP and makes me sluggish..on top of that I have Anemia and get B12 injections so not real sure how all that effects testing. Yes, the slow processing has been documented by docs, PT etc, but this doc did not give any suggestions or reasons for the slow processing? But he does think I should "just start driving" again. So where do you think your case is at now that the WC insurance exam has taken place and seems as though you have been told there is no connection to your work injuries? I assume you have your own doc who thinks otherwise. Do you have an atty - Do you stuill have a job with your employer?

My doctor recommended I get an eval. She noticed a discrepancy between my level of education (master's) and my ability to talk about my symptoms and the accident (the tree hit the car right by the wheel thingy and I hit my shoulder with the door). Is that being taken into account anywhere?
I have only had one, and I need to be re-evaluated in August to see if I can return to teaching full time. My husband was along. The neuropsych asked him questions about what he has noticed since the accident. He was also able to hear the results and remember them better than I could--definitely recommend someone going with you. She gave me a brief overview of the results. I scored in the same level on all of the areas tested except one. It was noticeably lower and I could not be a teacher with a score in complex attention that was that low. Complex attention is doing more than one thing at a time. So the link between the accident and the test results was pretty clear. I hope it goes well and by all means have someone else give you an eval so you can compare the results. It is hard to advocate for yourself with a brain injury isn't it? |

My doctor recommended seeing a speech therapist. Even though my speech has improved immensely, the doc said the therapy works on the same part of my brain that was hit--right frontal lobe. Haven't been to my appt yet, but am hopeful...
Can't worry about that right now. My dog just got into a fight with a porcupine and lost. Quills are everywhere! |

It took about 2 months for me to get results the first time as well...
I think all the different test that are conducted need to be processed and analyzed or something.... or could be the ins co doesnt like the reults they are given and telling doc to take a 2nd look

I understand the time involved for the report somewhat, but if I didn't have so much hanging on this report then I wouldn't sweat it as much. This report decides whether my temporary disability payments will be reinstated and medical treatment as well. I am about to lose my house and have had to seek help in places I would have never thought I would. The stress of the debt has now taken over everything else!! forget about me right now, if they don't get on the ball I may be in a crazy predicament. I don't understand how these practices are ethical or legal... I NEVER would've expected this to go down this way especially after a severe car accident. Even though I had a good exchange with this NP, I am very skeptical about how this is going to turn out for me. Then if it doesn't come out in my favor, my atty then has to file a motion and send me to another doc and that will take a few more months. |

All,
Were you ever given the 600 neuropsyc qustion test. I think it is called MMPI?? something. It is a slew of questions asking you about how well or not you get along with family, others, did you ever shoplift, steal, geting into fights, have bad behavior in school etc....
