Hi Jason,
Curiously enough, the olfactory bulb, where your brain detects smells is one of the few places in the brain that have stem cells, cells that can replace other cells. Most of the neurons in the brain can't be replaced, sadly for those of us with some form of brain damage, but there could be hope for the sense of smell because of those olfactory stem cells. Of course if the stem cells have been killed off as well then they won't be able to replenish the other lost cells. You will just have to wait and see if your sense of smell comes back. It could take a while but I wouldn't give us hope yet; those stem cells might be dividing unnoticed.

Why was my loss of smell delayed two months? Why didn't I loose it the day I fell? Please please tell me what I can do to get it back.
