Cjm,

I think you question would be better if you asked about specific symptoms.

For example, I struggle miserably with auditory over-stimulation.

I know how to avoid some environments and use foam ear plugs to better endure those I can't avoid.

I have a variety of memory struggles that I have learned to work-around.

The most important skill to learn is calming the mind to a point where thoughts can be processed more successfully. The first skills to learn for this is how to shut out external stimuli.

I often start by turning off sounds like a radio or TV. If I can, I close my eyes.

So, list the symptom you struggle with the most and hopefully, you will get lots of suggestions.

My best to you.

I had 6 diagnosed concussions. The most horrible one (for me) was my 4th one. Hit my head on a metal rail, was knockedout for less tnan 10 minutes. The first month of my recovery was HELL. Couldn't walk, couldn't even get to the bathroom without my husband's help, couldn't control my emotions, was crying constantly, had terrible headaches, etc, etc.
This happened in June, 2011.

I was completely sympton-free by August, 2011. I felt like I've never had any concussions in my life. Went back to zumba classes, being a VP of my kids' school PTA, etc., etc. But I lostmy business due to the fact that I had to spend a month and a half in bed, and, of course, I lost almost all my clients, but you know, I was healthy again and that what mattered.

So, yes, there is hope and it does get better. Just try not to hit your head again after you are recovered. Remember - it doesn't take much for people like us to get a new concusion. Good luck!

Thank you guys. I still have all symptoms and it's been almost 30 days since my concussion and 4 month since my fall on the ice since the major one. I hate the anxiety and insomnia symtomps and during the day boredom
Kinda depressed all day bored an dizzy . I walk 20 min a day kinda helps but symptoms are still there my doctor says its a waiting game.

So 30 days into my concussion still feeling it and 4 months since my major one. I felt little better after my major one after a Month but after this second one Caime it harder to get these symptoms away. I notice I get vivid dreams at night too like nightmares etc sleeping is difficult at times. I'm 29 years old and I have a family hopefully I recover and be able to work and do some things I used to enjoy and do thing with my wife and kids until then it's the waiting game. I'm taking all my vitamins still and drinking lots of wate and omga fish oils just have to wait out the storm I guess.
