Starr,
The brain injury rehab clinic may have recognized that you are truly suffering PCS symptoms and not just a complainer looking for sympathy or a quick fix. The 6 month waiting time may be useful at filtering out the complainers versus those with real struggles. Many people with PCS will stop complaining after a wait like that. It allows the spontaneous healing to take place, especially for those who want a quick fix. You've paid you dues both in time and in understanding. At my prior health care provider, we had a belief that if the clinic put your appointment out long enough, the complaint will heal on its own. This is how they kept costs down. Don't try to over-think this. Just go with it and see what happens. My best to you.
