Default Petadolex and PCS headaches

According to their website Petadolex..

It helps maintain proper muscle tone and blood flow in cerebral blood vessels.

I'm just curious about this in the context of PCS and TBI headaches. What is actually the physiological explanation of PCS headaches? and what would Petadolex do or help with in this context?

Thank you

Concussions cause the mechanism that regulates blood pressure and blood flow to malfunction.

The supplement you mention may or may not over-come this malfunction. If the control mechanism is malfunctioning and the Petadolex only acts downstream of this control, then it will not help. If motor control is malfunctioning, it does not help to build up muscles.

Thanks for that explanation. If the regulation in blood flow and blood pressure malfunction in a concussion then how do they resolve over time? Do they resolve because of plasticity?

Thank you!

Plasticity is a grossly overused term. There are a variety of neurochemical and basic nervous system functions that need to be restored to balance. This is why low stress and good brain nutrition is important. The brain needs to find its own balance. Using drugs and extreme supplements may help but they do not usually assist the brain as it re-establishes its own balance. The question is: Does the supplement or med take the place of the brain's balancing mechanism ? If it does, how does one function without the med or extreme supplement.

When I say 'extreme' supplement, I am referring to supplements that have a very narrow targeted purpose. Many of the amino acids and other compounds the brain needs are the result of the brain and body processing and extracting these compounds from the food we eat and normal nutritional supplements that support such compounds.

If we give the brain a direct replacement for something that the brain/body usually metabolizes from good nutrition, does the brain ever recover the ability to properly metabolize the substances ?

Are we giving the brain a crutch or are we allowing the brain to regain proper function without a crutch ?
