I'm just wondering if anyone else has the same "weird" dizziness as me. I will try and describe it...
Sometimes when walking and looking down, the floor ahead of me seems to be slanted upwards (kinda like those haunted houses u go in when ur a kid). Other times my body feels like it's motion (but not vertigo) just slightly moving to the right. If I do the some isometric exercise like standing and putting both hands on the wall with slight pressure, it feels like my feet are going through the floor, so weird! Neurologist just said I was over sensitive but I think it's the concussion as I never felt like this before. I'm doing vestibular rehab but doesn't seem to help. I can do all the static balance exercises therapist said I have good balance. Also she did different tests on my eyes all came back good. Also she checked for BBPV and it's not that. She doesn't think it's inner ear either but a "central problem". |

Hi, I know what you are talking about! I don't get the slanting floor visuals, but I do get the feeling of listing to the left. It's really strange, and unexplainable. (at least in my case.)
They also did inner ear testing for me, etc. with normal results. I was told I had an "interesting story" (about how i got the concussion) but that all systems were normal. Ha ha! They did prescribe me some antivert meds, which work, but they make me so lethargic that I only use them in the most extreme of times. I hope you find some answers! ![]()

I also have some weird dizziness. My body wants to move and if I have to stand in a grocery store or anywhere it makes it worse. Some places with poor lighting or certain noises makes it worse. I get that tilt feeling on certain carpet color and designs.
Also my dizziness worse when I am sitting than standing. Almost like the blood flow to the brain is restricted. For me Xanax works to some extent. I am very cautious though since if I take regularly then I don't get that much benefit (of course). Also some days are worse and some days are ok. For some reason all that dizzy feeling subsides in the night and my fatigue/headaches also goes down. fter 10 pm and so now I try to do all my shopping etc., at that time. No doctor has a clue what is the reason. Alcohol helps too some times ![]() This link explains a bit about dizziness. I do have something described in this article "patients may feel sick watching a movie, scanning the aisles while grocery shopping, even looking at stripes on a shirt" I did vision therapy and didn't see much result besides the training prism lenses helps some what. Neurofeedback helped to relieve quite some symptoms but the effect didn't last longer. Cranio sacral therapy helps too. I still has to find some thing where to get persistent results. http://bodyodd.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2...an-happen?lite

I also seem to do better if I drive places, rather than be the passenger. (one would think motion sickness would apply at all times in the vehicle, but I am NOT complaining, lol) Grocery shopping and stripes...argh. The WORST for me! And I wish that I could drink. I miss alcohol. teehee ![]() Thanks again. PCS is so weird. (understatement of the century but I can't find a better word for it)

Type of dizziness we suffer from most doctors (including dizzy specialized doctors
![]() For me another weird thing is when the car is moving I am ok. When I come to a stop I feel dizzy. I even took it for a spin in the highways and I did good. Once I took the exit come to a busy city road I felt worse. Noticed busy city streets, tall buildings I feel immediately. Now I find streets, roads where it is not too busy and my travelling time increased a lot ![]() Sometimes I feel I have "Mal de Debarquement Syndrome'. Very rarely happens after Head Injury and I fit the profile almost ![]() http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mal_de_debarquement

I get weird dizzy and see slants and angles in things that aren't really there too. I also see movement when it's not there too - like walls, floors and static things on webpages and stuff like that.
I've personally decided (no professional has even remotely backed this up as far as I can tell) that it might be caused by my vision and that vision therapy might help me. I mean, it makes sense, right? If the information from my two eyes aren't being received or processed by my brain correctly, maybe it's causing it - and I think the perception of it is what's making me dizzy. I've kind of decided that vision therapy is going to fix a lot of weird impairments that I'm still dealing with. ![]() I have my first appointment this Saturday and I'm looking forward to it. I'll be sure to post what it actually helps with. |

The problem with me is that I'm trying to figure out if my brain injury is causing the dizziness or my neck issue. The neuro seemed to disregard the neck issue as many ppl have disk bulge without symptoms.
I'm going to see my chiro and he'll have a look at the MRI as he sees disk bulges frequently. He can give me kinda second opinion. At the same time he can crack my lower back but not touching my neck. I'm now researching Cervicle Vergito as a lot of my symptoms match. |

I get the "slanted floor" dizziness. It was very hard to describe, even my wife looked at me strangely when I tried to describe it. Stripes have gotten better, but I still have occasional days where they trigger dizziness. Nuerologist put me on Antivert, and it helped for the first week or two, but hasn't touched the last couple of bouts. Luckily, it's not an everyday thing, maybe every 4 or 5 days that I get hit with it.

I have antivert but neuro says try not to use it only in acute situations. My PT says the same thing. I'm not spinning vertigo but just unsteady. And only certain situations where I feel the floor is slanted. Like when I walk down the hallway in my house and it's darker there. Then I thought maybe it's the darkness but no, I can walk fine in the dark, doesn't get any worse.
One thing I do find it that if I get a good night sleep (rare) then it's not as bad in the morning. |
