Default Wow...railroaded by Work Comp, released by Neurologist.

So, next week it'll be 6 months PCS, and the Neurologist tells me he can't help me and drops me. Tells me the neuropsych exam shows inconsistent results (which I saw the report, it said my results could not support my complaints, i.e. I'm full of it) and I'm being dumped. Don't know yet if WC is going to dump me, but it won't surprise me, the neuropsych was paid for by them. Fortunately my attorney paid for a neuropsychiatrist to do one, which says quite the opposite, so now it looks like I'm going to court over my brain.

My neurologist actually told me there's nothing wrong with my brain and I just needed to come to grips with that.

Don't get discouraged - it's all part of the game.

Hope you have a good atty & good drs on your side to prove the WC paid dr is full of hot air...

Well I think I do....but, only time will tell. The thing is, it's not SUPPOSED to be a game, you know? I'm a patient, not a football.

Hey Scott,
Sorry to hear about your neuropsych issues, sounds a lot like mine. The Neuropsychologist who did my testing was paid for by Workmans comp but he also works for my employer (in the same system).

He said my results showed intermittent suboptimal effort. He said we need to "close the loop" and get me back to ework.

Now I am being stepped down off the medicine that was keeping my migraines controlled and the headaches are getting worse. (One of the reasons I havnet been on here in a while). He put my MMI date date another 6 months, but wants me to go off meds, start driving and return to work (light duty).

Have neveer been terminated from employmnet before, nor do i want to quit, but I feel I am being forced back without meds to control the pain, with extreme fatigue and other issues that are not really being addressed.
And In my opinion...not enough solid advise from Attys.

I am so sorry you guys are going through all of this. I can only send hugs your way and hope that it all turns out alright...I feel your frustration. You would think that in light of all the concussion information getting out there lately that doctors would not be so ignorant. (guess its not enough still)

Keep us posted.

When I fell at work and fractured my back they DEMANDED that i let them do surgery. I did my research and saw that the success rate in healing was EXACTLY the same after 10 years post surgical for both groups. Then at 15 years the surgical group started to have major issues because the weight of the clips, hardware and other stuff they used in surgery shifts, and the bones under it start straining at the weight. I chose NO surgery to heal. I went to their MDs and my MDs and both gave the same info. Because I chose to not let them hack into my body, they saw me as uncooperative and cut off my check. I had to go to court over and over with this gang. Then the judge started scolding them because they were following me! for 2 years! He warned them that if they didnt either present evidence TODAY that I was malingering that they were to stop or face sanctions.

Please know that they do this all the time. its a way to make you quit and say "go away! i dont care as long as you go away" and they win. Hang in there. Just do what YOUR MD tells you to do, and make sure you lawyer up. They have many on their side, you need at least one at your table. Let them do your fighting for you.

Scott,

I am in the same situation as you and I understand how absolutely frustrating it is. I am in limbo right now and have had to deal with alot of nonsense because of the diagnosis of concussion and PCS. I have seen good doctors but the insurance company are playing games and making getting treatment and disability payments impossible. Hang in there and keep us posted. Its great to have a support system like this.
