Hope you're all doing as well as possible.
I know time frames don't matter, as Mark says, but one can't help but look back on such a major event. The good news is that the pain has lessened over the past year, and oddly has moved to the roof of the mouth. Nerve pain? Bad news is it is still there, and I have to hope I will continue to improve til chronic pain is gone. Someone mentioned most healing takes place in the early stages up to two years, though... Anyways thanks for your support. God bless you all. |

Hi Jeffrey. I'm with you on tracking the time, it's been a little over a year and a half for me and I still mark events and memories into "before" and "after" catagories.
Hope you continue to heal.

What Happened: On November 29, 2010, I was walking across the street and was hit by a light rail commuter train. Result was a severe traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures (skull, pelvis, ribs). Total hospital stay was two months, one in ICU followed by an additional month in neuro-rehab. Upon hospital discharge, neurological testing revealed deficits in short term memory, executive functioning, and spatial recognition. Today: Neuropsychological examination five months post-accident indicated a return to normal cognitive functioning, and I returned to work approximately 6 months after the accident. I am grateful to be alive and am looking forward to enjoying the rest of my life. |
