Confused Neurologist Appointment tomorrow

For those of you who don't know me 3 months ago I was violently assaulted by a demented patient in the long term care facility I work night shift (alone) at.

I suffer from PCS, PTSD and have just begun panic attacks.

I have my first Neurologist appt tomorrow and I'm struggling to plan questions ahead of time. Just wondering what sort of questions have others asked?
or wished they had.

I'm afraid all results will point to normal and he'll clear me for duty. I know I am not ready

as I still have what Mark called...what was it? Mud brain headaches, brain fog, balance issues, cognitive difficulties, chronic Migraines, stiff neck with pain, easily fatigued and the list goes on.....

Any suggestions would do

Kelly

If your symptoms are evident, a good neuro work-up including a complete mental status exam should result in him properly understanding your condition.

Either he understands prolonged concussion symptoms or he is biased against them. Hopefully, he is the former.

My best to you.

I can't think very well right now...but I suggest you bring a list of symptoms with you.

What happened: I was randomly assaulted from behind in June of 2011. I was knocked unconscious for an unknown amount of time (less than 30 minutes) and have no memory of the event. CT scan showed contusion and hematoma of the left frontal lobe. I spent 3 days in the hospital. Diagnosed with Post-Concussion Syndrome in September 2011. Currently have Medicaid, Medicare and SSI.

Current symptoms: Brain fog, mild memory issues, problems with spontaneity, occasional spacing out, word finding difficulties, tinnitus in right ear and some other things that I can't explain.

Life after the brain injury: 4 years after the injury, I'm engaged to my beautiful girlfriend of 5 years, I'm the CEO of my own business, Notorious Labs, I've taught myself how to program complex games and apps which is a feat I never thought I'd accomplish and now live a semi-normal life with very mild PCS symptoms.

Slowly but surely regaining my life back.

Thanks guys!

I have my symptoms written out already so I don't forget them as all are important and debilitating.

I'm going on lack of sleep due to nightmares! URGH

Is it possible to get a panic attack while asleep???

Just curious

I have found my wife an incredible asset to all my doctor visits. She fills in the blanks I leave and validates my symptoms. Harder for a Dr to ignore a family member telling them the same thing. Persoanlly I keep a daily health journal detail wake and sleep times, symptoms I expierenced and what I did to relieve them. I also include all activities for the day and if I felt the activities effected me. Good luck.
