Question Anyone else have chronic pain but not taking medication?

Just wondering if anyone else is in that zone where after a few years, the pain is there (for me in the palete it moved down from the head), but you aren't taking painkillers for it.

Also, anyone else not have insurance or a doctor?

I just try to figure things out from this forum, and leads for alternative medicine that might help, such as NCR.

Thanks for any support/replies.

Do you mean Neuro Cranial Restructuring when you say NCR?

Have you tried to get a Kaiser Health Plan? Kaiser has a top rate expert in maxilo-facial surgery at the Oakland Hospital. Dr Poore did palate surgery on my daughter 15 years ago.

Hi,

Through many accidents and mishaps, I have had multiple fractures and injuries over the majority of my body. This natural results in a lot of chronic pain.

When the pain used to get too much I used to take Brufen and CoCodomol. Since my head injury I have been told to stop taking these since they can inhibit the repair process and compound the other head injury symptoms

I have chronic pain, and rely mainly on advil for relief when I need. I've been told not to take it for more than 2 weeks a month, otherwise I'll get rebound headaches...

I was given one drug for headaches which worked great to relieve the pain, but caused horrendous stomach pain (it was a tricyclic drug, cannot remember the name), then I was prescribed gabapentin, which I have not taken because we are actively trying to have a baby, and I have had enough troubles, and cannot imagine adding in possible birth defects....

When resting, symptoms are low. With exertion, I still suffer from fatigue, migraines, vision problems, problems thinking or reading, troubles sleeping, issues finding or getting words to my mouth when the headaches are bad, tinnitus, and thyroid issues which I think are due to the concussion. Seen one specialist, and now a few others through insurance review of my case. Hoping for further treatment.

Yes. No. Hope the surgery went well.

Thanks for the other replies as well.

If the independant business I'm with gets funding soon, hopefully I will finally be able to get medical for the first time in over a decade.

Til then I will wait. Thanks be to God.

Do you think I would recommend Dr Poore if the surgery went poorly? He is a specialist in this specific kind of surgery.

Are you expecting the independent business to pay for your health insurance? I have always paid for my family's health plan. Expecting an employer or someone else to pay for it means you will not likely get it. Obamacare makes employer paid health plans very expensive. Many small businesses are dropping their health plans.

I was trying to be polite & was hoping it went well. Thanks for the info.

No. But God could allow it to happen if He chooses.

If not, I could use income, Lord willing.

I expect almost nothing in life except God's promises in the Bible.

New data:

Appointment for a panoramic X-Ray by a different dentist in a month. Maybe there's a fracture in the palatte. Guess it beats waiting out pain for however many days or decades & maybe treating the cause.

But my pain is nothing compared to the pain of many. I'm praying they experience relief!
