Default Headaches and BP

Pain and BP can be a real chicken and egg problem. Have your family watch the you tube video," You look great parts 1 thru 6." High BP can cause a headache to be worse. Or a headache/pain can cause BP to go up. I had a migraine that lasted 54 days. After which it finally subsided.

Hi again,

This morning I have decided to stop my Anxiety and Anti depressant Meds. I have spoke with my parents and they think it is ridiculous that the doctors have put me on these meds, when this is most likely PCS.

I am sure this is PCS because the meds didn't help at all, and the normal pain killers didn't touch the headaches.

I think I'm just going to have to ride this out, so far I'm 3 months in, so probably another 3 months and this will be over with.

I do actually feel a little bit better having not taken the meds today, maybe they might of contributed to the headaches.

And like I said earlier, I am 18 and have never suffered depression or anxiety in my life, apart from OCD which has never bothered me. I wouldn't be me without OCD

Before the rugby tackle I was very happy, was working, doing hard physical laboring, always out with my friends, had so many plans.

Thanks for everyones help and I will keep you updated.

Matt, be very careful about suddenly coming off your anxiety/depression medicines. You should speak to a doctor before you do this as you may need to come off them gradually. It may be dangerous to stop them suddenly - it would be dangerous for me to suddenly stop taking the beta blockers I am on.

Stopping many medications will give you withdrawal symptoms which will likely include headaches. Once the drs find out you've suddenly stopped taking something, they may well attribute your symptoms to a withdrawal. It's better to be up front and honest with your doctor, remaining calm if you can!

You say you're taking the following:

Valpromide 300mg (morning and evening)
Oxazepam 5mg (morning and evening)
Chlorpromazine (12.5mg morning and 25mg evening)
Escitalopram 10mg in the morning

I don't know much about them except that Oxazepam is a benzodiazapine - you should not suddenly stop this without speaking to a doctor.

Let us know how you get on!
