Tongue The sound of leaf blowers is really...

Seems they blow leaves around twice a week in my area. I know it's hard work for those who do it & appreciate it, but man...

They really need silencers on those things. Seems they take a long time to go around, and come right up to the door. They should just let people sweep their own doorstop really.

Too bad a silencer proposal isn't in the election. I'd be handing out flyers around town for that one.

Ah well. Just need to keep my cool when it happens, despite it being almost rage-inducing, and not destroy something or swing open the door to scare the guy away.

Take care all!

Have you considered soft earplugs on those occassions? They are cheaper than a gun and won't land you in jail. Not that you should be subjected to the noise in the first place. However, since there isn't much you can do about it, try the earplugs. They do a great job blocking noise.

Yes, the lawn-tractors and leaf-blowers are aggravating noise.
Yes, as Sam said, earplugs are 'standard equipment' in life w/ PCS.

Oh yeah, I've been wearing them for years at night for sleep & when I go to church (amplifiers), but forgot about putting them in for the blowers. Thanks!

Default Hi Jeffery

Hi, I just wanted to tell you, that you are not alone with the squack about loud stuff. I don't have PCS but I sure get annoyed at the machines like the leaf blower. Want to sleep in on Sat. morning?, forget it. My neighbor works on loud loud cars, my bedroom is not very far away. This goes on all the time, sunday too. No rest, and it seems alot of people are not awhere of the noise, or care less. Sorry you have medical issues, that make this even worse. I just wish folks that do loud things, would do it when you arn't trying to sleep, or with knowledge of other people. I also live in a high tourist area, people away from home, sometimes have little consideration for those that live in the area they visit. Yep, drunks in the street, one party too many. Yep, I have the same beef you do. I hope you are able to get well soon. ginnie

Living rurally, leaf blowers aren't a problem, but cars going by on the road with loud thumpa, thumpa music or those fart pipe exhaust systems that seem to be so popular with young men these days make me crazy angry.

I understand sometimes noise happens while things are getting done, like my tractor is noisy when I'm out doing work with it... but noise just for noise sake just makes me angry.

Ear plugs are your friend... but for me, even the soft squishy ones have their own problems, the pressure they exert in my ears only adds to my head pain.
