My father called me saying he read an article in Chicago Tribune that hockey player Jonathon Toews went to this place in Atlanta that has helped his symptoms considerably(he uses the phrase fully recovered). This is the same place that Crosby went to. Has anyone tried this? Looks pricy, but am willing to try anything at this point. Here is link about the facilitiy and about Toews.

Chiropractic neurology is a very questionable technology. They claim to speed up healing but they provide no research to support their claims. There are certain problems that occur with concussions that he can treat very successfully. His vestibular rehab methods appear to be very good.

Sidney Crosby made great strides until his recovery stopped dead. It sounds like Carrick treated the problems his technology addresses but was not able to treat the rest of the concussion problems.

There are a variety of vestibular rehab facilities throughout the country. His is likely the most expensive. He caters to the high profile and wealthy clients.

If there is a chiropractic neurologist in your area, it may be worth a try. Just don't break the bank with these treatments. Go into it with your eyes open and your wallet closed.

The question should be, What symptoms are you hoping to get treated?

Main symptoms are brain fog, difficulty concentrating, fatigue, lightheadedness, sensitive to noise, unable to tolerate any alcohol(not that this is such a bad thing but I'd like to enjoy a beer every now and then).

I just did a middle inner ear test ordered by an ENT and my vestibular function, hearing, and tracking objects were normal.

I'm seeing an optometrist tomorrow to hopefully get a more detailed vision test. I was at U.S. open for tennis recently and it was impossible for me to watch from the side view(looking left to right/back and forth) without severe strain. Once I changed seats to behind the player so the ball was coming at me, I had no problems. In my physical therapy, tracking left to right and diaganol increased my brain fog/headaches by quite a bit.

I started to see great improvement after acupuncture. It reminded me of how I felt before my accident. Then I tried to get off the amitryptaline and started to feel much worse. I also tried to study new material for 3 hours(which I haven't really pushed myself since my accident) and I felt awful the next day.

I'm thinking of trying NUCAA chiropractor next to see if that improves my symptoms. I'm also trying to rest more and realize that if I do see improvement, I need to take it very easy in pushing my limits.

Since your vestibular functions are normal, You may be better off trying the NUCCA unless you have a chiropractic neurologist local to your home.

It sounds to me like you need to focus on quiet rest. You may be spending too much effort trying to track day to day symptoms. PCS symptoms are best looked at as trends over weeks or months.

What steps are you already taking to support recovery?

I just made a neuro chiropractor here in Maine. It is Nov. 27. I am really excited to go!
Talking with doctors at the VA here in maine (I am a veteran) is like talking to a wall...and the neuro is pushing 90yo and very old school.....which is not helpful with me. I think with PCS...doctors need to be well educated on current studies and have open minds about treating the whole person.

Just wanted to give a word of encouragement...i have gotten more help from my neuro chiro in 6mos than i have in 6 years of medical drs. It is also the first time i felt someone actually understood my brain injury and the struggles i have had. Hope you have the same experience

I forget about posts i have made over the past year....and really need to get better at following up.

Its been one year since MVA...
i have improved but do continue to struggle. Its a roller coaster.

I need to go back to chiro...i go so overwelmed with driving to all the appts I withdrew a bit and got depressed.

Out of everyone..they helped the most.
