Default Immune system

Has anyone else been prone to infections and been getting sick easily since their injury?

I catch everything, and have been struggle with lung issues for over 2 months now. Since the accident almost two years ago, I have had nearly every cold that flies through, and strep throat 4 times. This is the second fall/winter in a row I have had pneumonia followed by a nearly unshakable bronchitis.

Mimi,

A brain injury can be very taxing on the system, including the immune system. Have you tried the supplement regimen I recommend? You can find it in the thread " Vitamin supplements." It has helped me overcome even my pollen allergies.

I'll move it to the top.

8th year out from the accident my immune system was so weak I contracted a nearly fatal blood infection. 8 days in the hospital on life support. They weren't sure I was going to make it.

Well, I have blood results today. I have a low Immunoglobulin G which effects my ability to fight off infections.

I am curious/fascinated by the possibility that a brain injury might actually interfere with the brain's instructions the body to produce IgG...
