As far as activities go, you should be very aware of what activities make things worse. These are what someone else referred to as "triggers." If you find your headache getting worse during or after a workout, for example, that tells you something: scale things back or stop entirely for a while; then build up your tolerance. If your neck is involved, physical activity like lifting or even raising your arms can aggravate activity. Physical activity is beneficial, as long as it's not detrimental. Do what your body allows. The same goes for other activities that are not "physical" in nature--e.g., reading, talking, etc. **One really important point here is that you may not yet know what your triggers are because you haven't given your head a chance to rest. It took me some time to understand that some activities were actually making my headache worse because I was not giving myself an adequate break. I'd also suggest talking with a knowledgeable doctor about medication. Typically antidepressants in low doses are used (Elavil, Cymbalta, etc.) But there are some others called beta blockers. As I say, talk to your doctor. Good luck. This whole things sucks and I'm in it with you! |
