Default Neuro-ophthalmologist recommendation Ontario

Hello,

It has been recommended that I see a Neuro ophthalmologist. Can anyone recommend a good one in the London, Toronto, Hamilton area? The car ride to see one will be extremely hard on me but I think its necessary.

Hopefully someone has a recommendation for me. I can look up Drs online but I'd like to see someone that others have had success with.

Thanks!

Check with the Ontario NeuroTrauma Foundation. They may be able to make a good referral. check out www.onf.org

Let us know if you find one.

Here's another link. You may want to dig around here a little and there are a couple more links near the bottom of the page. Ontario Shores is in Whitby!

Best of luck and keep us posted.

Default referral made, waiting for appt

Hello,

Thank you for the links! I have been referred to Amadeo Rodriguez in Hamilton at the St. Joseph's Centre for Ambulatory Health Services
Regional Eye Institute. I think the main reason for picking him is because he is the closest one to me (30 minutes or so) and I cannot handle car rides at all. The next closest option was about an hour and a half away.

Now I just have to wait and see when my appointment will be. We can start placing bets now! I'm guess... March?

Thanks again for your help!

I'm a 39 year old, female, accountant. On July 2, 2012 I crashed my bike at the end of a 65KM road ride. I was fine that day but woke up the next morning to my current world.

Ongoing symptoms include: dizziness, blurred vision, light and noise sensitivities, cognitive problems, uncontrollable emotions/depression/anxiety, headaches (but they're getting better), mental and physical fatigue, difficulty communicating and sleep disturbances.

Currently seeing a fabulous Neuro Psychologist and vestibular physiotherapist and hoping to soon see a neuro ophthalmologist. I am currently doing 20 minute stationary bike rides daily, 20 minutes of meditating, 15 minutes of Lumosity and lots of resting. I have not been able to work or drive since the accident.

The things that have helped me the most since the accident are vestibular therapy, gel eye drops (for blurred vision, sensitivity and dryness), amitriptyline (10mg), and meditating. I am finally starting to see some slight improvements and am hopeful!

My brain WANTS to heal itself... I just have to let it and stop trying to get better!

Hi. Can you tell me what your experience was like with Dr. Rodriguez? I need to find a neuro ophthalmologist as well. Thanks
