Relapse!! I had my work christmas party on fri. I had 2 beers and stayed out a little late. Next day relapse!!!
I know they are common in pcs... But it hasnt been as bad as other relapses or lasted as long. For about 3 days b4 i was showing so much improvement. There were times when i felt nearly 100% again.. My q is even though i had a relapse am i getting better? Like i said i felt like i was vastly improving before!! |

Who knows if you are getting better. Only you can tell. But, alcohol and recovery definitely do not mix. Your injured brain can not tolerate the toxins from alcohol. Studies suggest that some may be able to tolerate a single serving, such as a glass of wine. Beer has many other compounds in it that cause an allergic reaction. Hangovers are believed to be related more to an allergic reaction to the alcohol and other ingredients that remnants of being drunk.
Consider that your drinking days may be over. Or, plan to be a mess after each imbibing.

Peter,
I had made a very healthy dinner for my love and a friend the other night and I picked up red wine from store.I had one glass and the next day I promised myself I can't do a glass of anything with alcohol.I was smelling wine for a day after, vertigo was BAD,all foods for a day was not appealing,I could not sleep,I was freezing cold,I had "shakes",I felt so horrible! While drinking it I did not get a "buzz" or relaxed! My friend almost drank the whole bottle and I started getting irritated because she had all negatives coming out her mouth and was getting loud!I called her a cabby and sent her home. *I flushed with tons of water and relaxed for about a day and half and felt little better but learned a valuable lesson to not think I can even "have a glass of wine @ dinner"* ~It REALLY is a social activity that I have realized how many of my friends have to order a drink wherever we go~ Hope you get to feeling better soon
