I would not worry about 663 iu's. The valid studies use much higher doses as the limit (2000 mgs). The 400 iu study was in a group of high risk subjects, not the normal population. It has been discounted.

Vitamin E comes in ten different forms. It would be wise to do some more research into your specific supplement type before you start taking high doses of this regularly. Also factor in your diet. I have found a figure of 1,000 mg or 1500 IU per day as a tolerable upper intake level. Definitely don't go above this number.

Griffin was concerned that 663 iu's was too much. Nobody has recommended much more than that.

I saw the vitamins you are taking on the first page, Mark. Regarding the fact that the dose of nearly all is much higher than the daily recommended, I wonder if there isn't any bad side effect?

The RDA (recommended daily allowance, USA) or DA (daily allowance, Europe) is a minimum level to maintain minimal health. It is formulated to prevent malnutrition. It is inadequate for the needs of a healing brain.

hey there,
came across this... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Optineuro%C2.../dp/B00AFCSEZQ Be great to know people's thoughts on this I'm not looking for a quick overall fix at all but a temporary boost would be great as while I'm improving cognitively bit by bit I still have a way to go and I have some unavoidable work deadlines imminent where I need to be definitely a bit more on my game than I am currently now. Only caffeine in my diet at present is from cocoa powder so that you know. The caffeine in the supplement is there mainly to boost the L-theanine it looks like but i could be wrong... Many thanks! |

Here's the vitamin regimen that I started about 3 weeks ago and I've been feeling miles ahead of where I was before. I'm also starting to exercise again and I'm up to about 30 min light cardio on stationary bikes and treadmills these days 4 times a week with minor symptoms arising. I usually stop when they start.
Here it is, throw in your input as I got a lot of the info about these vitamins from this board (thanks all for posting about them by the way ) Vitamin B 100 complex - once with breakfast Vitamin B 12 methyl cobalamin 2500 mcg - once with breakfast Folic Acid 1000mcg/1mg - once with breakfast Magnesium 500 mg - once with breakfast Ginkgo biloba 80 mg - once with breakfast Vitamin D 25mcg/1000 IU - I take 3 of these at breakfast and another 3 through the day Vitamin B complex - I find supplementing Vitamin B throughout the day and taking one of these with a morning snack and lunch also seems to decrease symptoms if I start getting them at work. Anyways, I know it seems like a lot of pills to take but this regimen has helped me quite a bit over the past few weeks. Let me know what people think if they've found something that's not in enough quantity or if I'm missing something that somebody has found really helps. Thanks guys, hope it helps somebody looking for a vitamin regimen. |

@ seabass.... Please make sure you are taking the B12 on an EMPTY stomach with no food for about an hour after. When food is present, the B12 may not be absorbed properly in the intestine.
Make sure your magnesium is not OXIDE form. That is also not absorbed, and is eliminated with the stool. Seems like you are taking too much B-complex. If you overdo the B6, you can get nerve damage. A B-50 once a day is enough for most people.
