Read some of the links, and decide then whether you want to use a B-50.

How much calcium should be supplemented? I take it separate from my magnesium.

Also, my doc recommended I take coenzyme 10 for my PCS. Anyone know anything about it and if it has helped. I've read it is mostly good for migraines which I really don't suffer from, so I'm not sure it's worth it to add into my vitamin regimen.

I'd add coenzyme Q10 to my regimen if it was not so expensive.

How do you continue going after 30 years of pcs. Do you still believe that your symptoms will go away. I'm at 10 monthes and am it wits end with the stress, frustration, and hopelessness coming from the pain itself and effect on my life. You must have incredible strength.

I am with ya here. 7 months in. Getting worse. What happened to cause your PCS? I take a lot of supps, too. A lot that Mark takes. Turmeric is the best for me. It helps a lot. Also I eat tons of sardines and green drinks (not fruit, just the greens). Vit C, too. Lots and lots. Vit D, Calcium, mineral drops really help, Magnesium is great. Sleep stuff is melatonin but it stops after a few days so I rotate. ALso Theanine and SLeep mixes you can buy. Essiac tea is great. My Dr said exercise is one the BEST things you can do. I cannot read too much anymore which sucks because I was an academic. Now I am stupid or feel that way. My personality is different. I hate hated hated country music and only listened to classical. NOW? I find myself laughing to country music. It makes me feel a weird sensation that I forgot existed. Oh, wait, that is a scrap of happiness. Hope you hang in with us. I am trying, too. |

I saw a psychiatrist and he recommended the following for me:
Magnesium 400mg/day Vitamin B2 400mg/day Vitamin D 2000 IU Others Omega 3s Please let me know if this is an ok regimen. Also, another poster mentioned that my folic acid level might need as boost, as I took a multivitamin that had a large dose of folic acid in the past and it may have helped. Can I safely add that to this regimen? Thanks,

If you add a B-50 Complex, folic acid will be included along with a full balance of all the Bs. 1000 mcgs of B-12 is very important.
Mag citrate or theonate is better than mag oxide ( a laxative that often goes right through you)

I am currently taking one liquid gel a day of the following blueberry extract:
Amazon.com: Wild Blueberry Concentrate - Made from Organic Berries | GMO & Gluten Free - Packed with Antioxidants and Phytonutrients | 6 Liquid Softgels - 2 Month Supply!: Health & Personal Care I have noticed a discernible difference with this product on my daily function. Although I am by no means "normal" with this, I notice I can think more clearly, have fewer reading problems, and have better memory, and am also better able to tolerate caffeine more frequently. This effect is equal for me to eating an entire container of blueberries each day. I can't find a citation for this, but I have read elsewhere that blueberries contain substances which activate a particular enzyme which improves the flow of oxygen to the brain. Given that caffeine causes reduced blood flow in the brain, that would explain my increased tolerance for caffeine while taking this product. |
