Default Is this a concussion or not?

I have a history of bumping my head and then having concussion symptoms because of my high anxiety and worry. I’ve had a concussion before years ago, and last week I hit my head on a lamp that hangs low in my new home. I was looking at my phone walking when I hit it. I don’t think I hit it too hard but I’m feeling exhausted and all those emotional symptoms. Little bit dizzy too. I’m sure I would pass a vision test. I’ve had plenty of times where I bump my head and my anxiety causes these concussion like symptoms because I worry too much. So would this be a concussion or no?

You would break the lamp long before the impact would be strong enough to cause a concussion.

Until you resolve your anxiety, especially concussion anxiety, your brain will play the memory of concussion symptoms even when no risk of a concussion exists.

Did you see the movie "Concussion" with Will Smith?

I understand. I guess my belief isn’t strong enough. I was walking a little fast when my head bumped the low hanging lamp and I keep debating whether or not it was an actual concussion. This really is terrible. My previous doctor that understood somatic disorders is busy until November 26th so I’ll just resume daily activities until then

I’m just scared that if I start doing activities and socializing and drinking that if I do actually have a concussion I’ll make things worse.

Thanks for your help Mark in Idaho!

Stay away from alcohol. It is not good for a previously concussed brain plus it reduces your coordination and puts you at risk.
