acmartin,
I have a very similar situation to yours so know that you are not alone. I have had around 6 minor concussions over the last 2 years that have now led me to have the same problem you are having with sensitivity...walking, car rides, etc. This has been very frustrating as I'm sure it has for you. I have a few questions to see if we share similar symptoms. Does your forehead often feel hot? when you had your concussions in the past, did your vision go completely white for a brief moment? And how long have you been so sensitive to car rides and walking and have you gotten any less sensitive? So sorry to hear about your situation. Hang in there |

Ask a moderator to fix your paragraphs. They should be able to do it and then people like me and Mark will be able to read your story and offer more help and advice.

I have recovered my cognitive function, and I've overcome severe vertigo through sensory integration therapy. Wellbutrin has helped me escape depression. I have recently had a few stress-related migraines, as well as headaches stemming from eye strain. I'm also dealing with tinnitus, lack of stamina, extreme light sensitivity, and eye pain. Diagnosed with 9 different vision issues: convergence insufficiency, pursuit eye movement deficit, egocentric visual midline shift, photophobia, visual information processing delays, accommodative insufficiency, saccadic eye movement deficit, lack of coordination, and central peripheral visual integration deficit. *First concussion: October 2010. I was pregnant and got rear ended. I associated my mild PCS symptoms with baby brain and blamed my light sensitivity on allergies and dry eyes. *Second concussion: December 2011. I hit my head on a wooden beam, saw stars but did not lose consciousness, and I had very disturbing PCS symptoms but didn't go to the doctor. *Third concussion: August 2012. I caused a car accident as a result of PCS symptoms. Thankfully no one was injured but me. My husband confronted me, and I finally sought help and took medical leave from work. My symptoms worsened, and I developed severe vertigo. *Fourth concussion: November 2012. I was riding in a car with a friend and we were hit head on by a driver who lost control of her car. I didn't have a big increase in PCS symptoms. |

According to the tbiguide site only 10-15% of TBI injuries even show up positive on CT/MRI. How could any doctor not know that?

acmartin,
I am 17 and am from Austin, Texas and have a very similar situation to you. I received 6 concussions from 3 years of playing football and baseball. For a year I suffered a constant headache everyday but was still able to be physically active for the most part. Then I got hit lightly on the head with a baseball after 8 months of headaches. I felt like I had another concussion the next day and was very sensitive to movement, just like you are. That was 5 months ago, and since then I have not been able to run, take long car rides, or do anything active because of the head sensitivity. I completely understand what you are say the shock travels through you body. I can hardly walk or do anything because of this. I am desperate for help just as you are and am searching for an answer. It doesn't seem right that our brains could be so sensitive to such subtle movements. It seems to me that there has got to be something wrong with the level or cerebrospinal fluid in our heads or something. I am going to talk to a few doctors this coming week and will let you know if I find anything out. I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone and to hang in there. |

Acmartin,
I contacted you around 3 or 4 months ago when I was going through the exact same thing your were with the head sensitivity. I dont know if you are still dealing with it or how well you are doing, but since then I have had drastic improvements that have completely turned my life around. I would love to share with you how I have gotten so much better, but it will be a little lengthy so please email me at ghemphill12@att.net Basically I started seeing a doctor who put me on a strict cleansing diet and gave me vitamin supplements to go along with it. Before I had headaches every day for 14 months. Since starting the diet 2 months ago, I have not had a single headache..pretty amazing. My head sensitivity has also gotten dramatically better, i used to not be able to ride in cars or walk, and now I can do both of those with ease and am about to start running with in the next few weeks. Anyways, I remembered reading your story and I really want to help you out so you can have the same healing I have had. Please contact me and good luck. |

Dan, Please tell us all about this program your doctor used with you.
Don't worry about posting a long post. Please use plenty of paragraph spaces/double line spaces every 5 lines or so. We all benefit when someone tells us how they improved. My best to you.

Mark, in response to your request, here is my healing story that I hope many will read and benefit from.
After 14 months of post concussion syndrome that had only gotten worse as time went on, I found a doctor who specializes in chiropractic neurology. She used a method of cranial adjustments, a few physical/nuerotherapy type things, but MOST IMPORTANT WAS THE DIET. I was not a believer in the diet when I first started, and I imagine anyone reading this would feel the same way, but after two months of being on it I can not describe how strongly I believe in it. There is quite a bit of science behind the diet, it is known as "Leaky Gut Diet" or "RepairVite Diet". Basically, it cleanses and restores the blood/gut barrier and intestinal track which is directly related to BLOOD/BRAIN BARRIER, which is almost always disrupted with concussions. This diet is not just for people with my specific post concussion syndrome (which was headaches every day and being incredibly sensitive to movement), but will benefit people with all types of head injuries. There are many, many people who can testify to this diet just like I can and how it has changed their lives. Here is a link to a website with the diet specifics, as you will see it is very strict, but 100% WORTH THE SACRIFICE. http://askdrakiba.com/food-sensitivi...pair-vite-diet Before I started the diet I had nonstop headaches for 14 months and became so sensitive to movement I could hardly walk or ride in cars. Since starting the diet 2 months ago, I have not had a single headache and my physical capability is getting better by the week! I am also on a good number of vitamin supplements due to the thorough blood test my doctor gave me, but I truly believe the diet has been the main benefactor. Anyone who wants to try this please don't hesitate to ask any questions, I strongly, strongly recommend it to anyone with a head injury. |

Thanks for the post. It gives me hope. I have been this way for 2 years now. I can only improve the symptoms. For example as long as I don't aggrivate the condition I can feel almost normal as far as my thought process and memory, but I still can't solve the head sensitivity problem. If I drive on a rough road or move my head too quickly I get brain fog etc.
Although I feel like I eat a good diet already. I am a vegetarian though, and as much as I would hate to eat meat I am getting desperate and willing to try it if I think it will help. Can you go over specifics of your diet when you improved and all the supplements your taking? |

Jens Schoof,
Welcome to NeuroTalk. This is a thread that has not been active for over a year. We have a vitamins sticky at the top that list the vitamin regimen many of us use. It is hard to get all the essential fatty acids with a vegetarian diet.
