Today is my one year anniversary of my fall. Not sure if its a day to be forgotten or celebrated. On one hand, its changed my life and not necessarily for the best. On the other hand, I'm alive. Proof that helmets do save lives.
In reality, today will be just a day like most others. A chiropractic appointment and a nap. I have seen some improvements in this year, but they've been slow to happen and progress is frustrating. But if I look not day to day or week to week, but over the longer term, there IS progress, so that I hold onto. I don't expect things will ever "be the same" or "go back to how they were" but in reality, even without profound accidents, things always change and evolve and nothing is ever the same, so maybe this is not that different. I'm not convinced, I'm still wrestling with it. Anyhow, just my thoughts on my anniversary. Be well and keep doing the things that are good for you and eventually over the long haul, maybe you too will notice little tidbits of progress. Starr |
