I wonder if it is a state thing because I got all my eggs in one basket but my main impairments are cognitive & speech amongst a list of othrs.I have 4 impairments and my injury is severe. But I heard from the lady that first processed me that TBIs are pretty fast compared to other illnesses.

Approved based on cognitive issues from mild TBI. No test required by Social Security. The medical records and results of neuropsychological test were sufficient evidence of disability.

Confused I Go This Week For Test

So I go this week for my testing and the letter says test is anywhere from 2-4hours long. Oh great!Do I get to wear my sunglasses?I get sick off the florescent lights for long periods of time.

Also is the disability from the date of my accident or from date I filed?Appreciate any feedback

Thumbs down All I Can Say

Sorry but this is the truth of how I feel and I hope I do not throw up on the MD. I am scared s***less of any MD's besides my own speciality team, because what I been through to get here.

That totally SUCKED!I did not throw up on the guy, but I melted a little at first.I pulled threw and got the test's done that lasted 2 and half hours of mind games. I have a stomach ache and a horrible cognitive ache Made me realize I have got better from the antidepressant's but still cognitively messed up!I need to go to sleep now and hope when I wake up I feel better to eat at least.

Default Who Would of Thought!!!

Who would of thought the stupid disability test is causing a somewhat relapse? A relapse that I do not feel stress but my anxiety is obviously VERY high! I can feel it physically. Clenched jaw even when I am asleep, to scared to eat cause I do not want jaw to lock, ear pain on left side, HEAD ZAPS, muscle spasms all over upper body to the point that I am declining because I have to take more benzos(muscle relaxer)....Playing a waiting game SUCKS after I already waited a year and nine months for stupid diagnosis!!!The topper is that I am not even thinking about the stupid disability....so I thought but physically I am. BTW I am doing meditation, breathing, massaging my neck & head, my physical therapy/vestibular therapy etc. Any suggestions?Besides this stupid jaw M.D. to get me in for Botox in jaw!

Mia,

Whats the first thing you learn about Meditation? - clear your mind.

STOP.........Clear your mind........

Please.

Stop all those other thoughts , dear..... Cleanse yourself..... rid your mind of that trash, NOW !!

Rest, be at peace, relax, breathe slow and deep, calm yourself......... do nothing else....... cleanse your mind....

Best Wishes............

Current: Changes of more insomnia, new reviews with findings of more Depression, tremors, vertigo, tinnitus, loss of focus, fatigue; SSDI - accepted on Depression, Cognitive Deficits; Seizures ruled out, mTBI changes including cognitive slowing/lapses.
Medication update: Topamax 200mg twice daily it seems to minimize daily headaches to a 1-2/10 quality(I still know they are there); and acute headaches erupt without warnings.

Default Eligability

Since my husband tested at 10% working memory does anyone know if he is considered disabled and eligible for disability?

He probably would qualify as working disabled except the fact that he is able to hold a job goes against this. You can not apply for Social Security Disability Income until you have been out of work for one year. The only exception is severe disabling dementia like Alzheimer's Disease.

I am on SSDI but could work if allowed to set up an appropriate business in my home. Driving restrictions limit my ability to drive to a job. My cognitive/memory issues make working in a normal workplace difficult.

Mark, the neuropsych said the only reason he is able to do is job is he has memorized it....must be using a different memory function. So many things to think about! Your posts are very helpful. You are making lemonade out of lemons!
