Default overthinking symptoms of pcs

Hi iam new to this website oi just wondered if anyone. Had any advice
Roughly a year ago I cut myself saw blood passed out and hit the back of my head I jumped right back to my feet I knew where I was
Had a drink of water went to the hospital for safe keeping ran into some ppl there that I new shot the breeze like nothing was wrong doctor took a look at me said I likely have a mild comcussion that night roughly 6hrs later or maybe even longer I was sick to my stomach next day I didn't feel 100% but nothing too bad I never had a single headache afterwards but couple weeks later I had awickedly short temper which I didn't realize could be a symptom of pcs I just brushed it off as being mad about my house burning and getting the run around from my insurance company but a little while later the symptoms crept up on me but. The only real problems I had were symptoms kind of like dyslexia which I am partially dyslexic and a bit of short term memory loss so I did some research into pcs whick led me to info on cte and what not I also train muay thai and am an amature competetitor but have since been on the sidelines while recovering from my concussion. I tend to overthink things and maybe worry a bit more then I should I rencently watched a show on Gary Goodridge after I was like oh I have that symptom and that one and maybe that one too so when I went back to my doc she just kinda laughed and said Jeff don't worry you fell and hit your head your just worrying too much so I just put it out of my head and I went about 2 months without forgetting anything felt great then I started thinking about it again and worrying a bit plus the stress of multiple legal issues and. I started forgetting little things but after that settled I put it out of my mind went no more problems then I started thinking about it again same thing back to a bit of memeory loss another thing I notice is if I send a text I have trouble using the right words its kinda hard to explain but usually if I am texting a girl I am like. Oh how can I word this to sound the best lol it sometimes takes me 5min to type out a text but I don't know if that has anything to do with anything or just me overthinking everyone from doctor to friends that study nuero science tell me I am overthinking and worrying myself into symptoms I never even had and also overthinking myself back into the ones I did have so in closing I just wondered if anyone else had a similar experience as me or if someone had any sort of advice they could offer that would be great thanks!!

Jeffmw,

Welcome to NeuroTalk. The symptoms you describe could be from a concussion. It would help if you would explain your symptoms a bit more. When do you experience them ? Have you been doing anything to help with recovery ?

A post with a simple list of your symptoms and any times when they get worse will help. Also, please explain your daily activity levels. What kind of work do you do ? What kind of a living situation ? You will be surprised at how much you daily environment can make your symptoms worse. Understanding this will allow us to give you ideas to lower the stress levels in your days.

Please, when you type your post, put a double paragraph space every 5 lines or so. Many of us struggle with visual processing issues that make it hard to read a long paragraph.

You ought to read the Vitamins...thread. It will help you provide your brain with good nourishment that can help with healing and stress tolerance.

I suggest you not worry about CTE at this time. Your muay thai training may be a problem if it includes contact with the head during sparring. The issue to consider is cumulative sub-concussive impacts. Over time, they can lead to CTE but for most, the CTE does not manifest until the 40's. Avoiding more head impacts will be the best way to lower your risk of CTE.
