Default New Meds

I had another appointment with my neurologist and we decided to try yet another medication for the tremendous head pressure from the PCS. He put me on Topomax. Has anyone used that before? Any weight loss?

Hi, jmsarge,

I have been on Topamax since April of last year.

I have daily Headaches (post concussion Migraine type/post traumatic).

I have just been elevated in dosage to 200 mg twice daily from a starting dose of 50 mg twice daily, and increased by 50mg over that period til now.

I have had some good Headache reduction with its use.

I have had some mild side effects of dry mouth, fatigue, min foggimess - and of course as is expected with many of these types of drugs, ED. The higher dosings have given me some Asthenia (muscle weakness) but stretching has helped with that; you can also do mild aerobics to help it.

I have a nice informative link to Crazymeds about Topamax for you. This person keeps information updated pretty regularly, you might find it helpful.

Current: Changes of more insomnia, new reviews with findings of more Depression, tremors, vertigo, tinnitus, loss of focus, fatigue; SSDI - accepted on Depression, Cognitive Deficits; Seizures ruled out, mTBI changes including cognitive slowing/lapses.
Medication update: Topamax 200mg twice daily it seems to minimize daily headaches to a 1-2/10 quality(I still know they are there); and acute headaches erupt without warnings.
