Default Exhausted, but did 2 days with exercise!

Hi Guys,
Hope everyone is having a good day today. I am exhausted. My back and leg are killing me. Did not sleep for more than a few hours. But, I did make it out of the house and exercised for two days in a row. This is huge for me. I have to stay down today and rest and am hurting like crazy but I did make it for 2 days of activity (was out for about 4 hours each day). I am happy. It does bring some confidence back. I will rest today and force myself to go out again tomorrow. Even if it is just for a small walk in the mountains. It is improvement. I also noticed that when I went to the mall, instead of buying sweats and pajamas that I actually bought regular cute clothes. This is an improvement. I can wear Levi's again. After the liver failure for years all I could wear was really soft cotton sweatpants. I know it is not much in comparison to how much progress some of you have made but for me this is progress.
My family found a program about living in chronic pain/illness and helping family members who live with chronic pain/illness. We are all going to it on Saturday for me and for my dad. It is very positive that the rest of the family is now trying to help with me and my dad. Dad has Parkinson's disease with dementia.
My poor mom needs help. I try to help as much as I can but she does have to take care of me some too. I am hoping this will get the family more involved with helping my mom.

Default Great news!

Oh boy being outside for 4 hours is a great accomplishment. And getting new clothes that are something other than what you were buying is a wonderful feeling. Sounds like your on a good path.

Sincerely

[SIZE="1"]What happened. I was in a car accident 2-23-2013, and got a mild concussion from it. I had some time off for brain rest, got somewhat better, but slipped into PCS in March 2013.

Symptoms I had: dizziness, light and sound sensitivity, fatigue, tinitis, occasional headaches and migraines,

Symptoms as of 5--2013: poor sleep, tinitis, some confusion /short term memory blanks, balance. The other symptoms are mostly gone, but flare up if I OVERdo something.

Therapy I had: vestibular

3 months in: I could drive more and for longer distances. I felt like a younger, happier version of myself and I feel so blessed to have this feeling.

9 months in and I am working full time. I do get tired, and some sound and light sensitivity from time to time, but mostly I am over most of my symptoms.
I pray every day and I m praying for your recovery.

Over a year in: I can multi task (limited) and have humor in my life. But when I am tired, I am very tired.

Thanks Ms.Rrio and everyone,
I am killed today. I really pushed myself last week. Was out for at least 3 hours every day. I am crashed and hurt. It helped my depression but I am going to have to take it slower. This is so frustrating. It is not like I did much. Then again, I am working my way up from having a hard time getting dressed and just lying down most the day. Going to keep trying. I am in serious pain though. I really have some sort of bad neck, back, leg injury. Gonna have to take it much slower.
Hope all of you are doing better. I am happy to hear of so much progress being made. For those that are still in bad shape like me-hang in there!

Miracles happen, even with us . In my early 40s, I returned to the martial arts training I'd begun in my 20s, but had to quit due to the medical problems caused by the TBI. After numerous false starts, I was finally able to stick it through for a two-year stretch and test for first-degree black belt, which I passed on the first attempt (in fact, I was top of the class). Soon after I was again forced to quit before I was even handed my personally-embroidered black belt (special order from Japan), but that didn't matter, as I was officially yudansha now regardless of the color of the belt I wore.

I still practice karate, but on my own, not it a dojo due to my health issues. I do not allow myself to feel discouraged; the little I can train is still better than none at all. So I give thanks every day.

Brain, forgive yourself. I'm sorry you're having a rough time and many of us relate. We get the little "high" from doing so well for a day or two, and then we crash and burn when PCS bites back.

But the bite doesn't take us back to freshly injured. It can't take away all our progress. It's a steep hill on our journey but we keep moving forward, knowing there will be more days ahead that we can coast through.

You have been such an encourager to me. I believe it's your special talent and a gift to this forum. I hope you are encouraged today, when you read this.
