I first posted on here when I got my concussion but I'm back haha.
The backstory is, I had about 4 or 5 concussions I know of in high school football. Last August I got another playing basketball. I've been through physical therapy and eye therapy(still going to those two) and I have also had chiropractor work and acupuncture and last month i got botox. I have a very good specalist that graduated and practiced for a while at Harvard specifically with brain injuries. A few weeks after I got Botox the stiffness in my neck went down, headaches became more infrequent and I thought Botox must have done the trick and I am on the way to recovery. Boy was I wrong... About a week or 2 ago headaches and neck pain started coming back. My physical therapist can usually calm it down a little. But I now have a headache going on 4 days long with no break and it gets awfully bad sometimes. All that hope I had is dwindling away. I might be getting the boot from the military because of all this. Have any of you had the symptoms just swing up and start horribly again like this? I'm at right around 9 months after concussion. |

acvfalcon,
Your improvement and relapse make sense. The Botox takes a while to paralyze the spasming muscle. After a while, the muscle recovers from the Botox. It sounds like you need to find a way to let your neck heal. Normal chiro is too aggressive for such an injury in many cases. What are you doing to protect your neck so it can heal ? What is the physical therapist doing for your neck ?

I have been keeping my neck upright. No slouching or anything like that. For physical therapy I get a lot of hands on stuff. Massages and things of that nature and usually some time with heating pads.
