I'm confused. Did the CT show a contusion or was this suggested by your symptoms ?

I'm surprised your PCP did not refer you to a neurologist for follow up. A contusion that shows up past 3 days should be taken very seriously. Research shows that minor bleeds are usually absorbed soon after 72 hours. If your contusion was visible at a later time, it was more than a minor contusion.

Aye, Mark, tis why I have been pressing for some forward motion obtaining Neurologist review and care........ to get more involved care hands on.
I'm afraid I have let information slip through though with my real life running around also, maybe not getting all the info out to Stewardess as I could have . Good luck in the AM with the phone calls Stewardess, My Insomnia has decided to be bad today........... I'll keep checking in. Best Wishes.

Called Neurologist who was recommended to me and he had an opening this morning so I rushed out the door.
Diagnosis - Status Migrainosus post TBI also caused by pressure while flying. Had the ER told me not to fly this might not have been so bad. Treatment - I go back the afternoon to get an IV and will administer Depacon 100 mg intravenously for the next few days. They will do my initial dose in the office under supervision and the others I will administer myself at home via IV. They have assigned me a Home Healthcare Nurse. But I am an EMT and have the Flight Attendant training that I can administer my own with no problem. I will stay with my Parents tonight and my mom insisted my dad stay with me tomorrow. Even when you grow up - you never really grow up to them I understand this is a FDA Black Box Drug. I am also a Paralegal and work (contract) for a Pharmaceutical Litigation Firm so I understand what this means. The Dr said I had about a 73% chance of improvement. I am hopeful. He also believes is will help with all the other symptoms and lack of sleep. Say a lil prayer for me and Ill update you all as to how it is going. |

I hope it helps. I find it interesting that many drugs list the same side-effect that the drug is being used to treat. So, you are good at doing an IV injection on yourself ? That takes nerves unless one has an addiction to the drug. I expect that you do not. Some people just have a gift for doing good vein pokes. My daughter has that gift as an Army Combat Medic.

Hi, I'm back, sorry I had a little break, needed little time out with my own Headache meds.
Glad you got to see a Neurologist. Depacon is an Antiseizure med..........be sure to have the Home Health Nurse help you out, don't take it all on yourself. Don't know if you kept the CrazyMed link but here is Depacon... for info. I have heard of many Neurologists using it for Status Migrainus... Good luck with it. Hopefully you will begin a good path of recovery then.......... Best Wishes.............
