Default sorry to hear it

Mia,

It's just gloomy rain, rain, rain here where I am and all around blah.

I am having a tired brain day.

So sorry you're in the dumps. I wish there were something funny to make you laugh. I find laughter helps me -- even silly jokes.

Maybe the cell will show up or get returned.

Symptoms I had: dizziness, light and sound sensitivity, fatigue, tinitis, occasional headaches and migraines,

Symptoms as of 5--2013: poor sleep, tinitis, some confusion /short term memory blanks, balance. The other symptoms are mostly gone, but flare up if I OVERdo something.

Therapy I had: vestibular

3 months in: I could drive more and for longer distances. I felt like a younger, happier version of myself and I feel so blessed to have this feeling.

9 months in and I am working full time. I do get tired, and some sound and light sensitivity from time to time, but mostly I am over most of my symptoms.
I pray every day and I m praying for your recovery.

Over a year in: I can multi task (limited) and have humor in my life. But when I am tired, I am very tired.

Hang in there and try to stick with what works for you - the ABCs of concussion recovery (rest, nutrition, hydration, relaxation techniques, etc). PCS recovery is such a rollercoaster. I like to think of the saying, "Don't like the weather? Wait five minutes." It will get better over time.

MIA,

I know you will not like hearing this:

STOP.

You must stop focusing on what you have no control over.

You know you have to calm down, you know how to meditate, go to that restful place, find your peace, and focus on CALM.........

Please help yourself, and find that peaceful , calm place you have......

Your family is there for you, let them be there for you , and let them deal with those problems for now......... you did not cause this....it happened.

Things do happen.

Please try to relax, find your calming peaceful place and be at ease......

Venting is good..... Deep Breathing is good, calming breathes are good.

Best wishes, focus on the good.

Medication update: Topamax 200mg twice daily it seems to minimize daily headaches to a 1-2/10 quality(I still know they are there); and acute headaches erupt without warnings.

Default I know how you feel

I have some of those days but I try not to focus on things I have no control over. I have not been able to work for 15 months now and my 3 teenage children are supporting the household. My 15 year old got a job at MacDonalds and I am up over $13,000 owing my 19 year old. I have also been told it will probably another year before I can work. My 15 year old wants to get a tattoo on her foot which has the date of my accident because that is the day her life changed.....It is really easy to take it to heart BUT the best thing you can do for your family is get better. Using up precious resources on negative feelings eat away at you. You need all your energy to recover and you will get better it is just is soooooo long. Tomorrow is another day. I took a 21 day meditation challenge which seemed to help me keep positive thoughts present and get rid of the negative ones. It also keeps the stress away.

Good Luck I am cheering for you!!!!

A friend sent me the download, so I am not sure how much it cost and there is a new one by Oprah and Deepak. Basically it is an audio recording you play, it starts off with the message it wants you to learn (forgiveness, loving, changing negative tapes etc.) and then it proceeds to have you meditate for 15 minutes and breath. I found it really relaxing and it taught me to concentrate on something else but my problems and to overwrite negative messages. I actually plan to repeat it, as I am now having a lot of issues with anxiety.

I just started restorative yoga, which is also great. The hard part is getting places as I do not drive and up to 2 months ago was not allowed on the bus. But anything that can help stress will help recovery, positive attitude is BIG.

Question I Think I Figured it Out?

Thanks guy's I appreciate the kind words and Concussion I always appreciate your help

This whole protein deficiency is another BOOM surprise! I cannot handle negative surprises like most of us we get overwhelmed and stressed!

Protein deficiency just does not happen over a week or 2....it takes sometime and with that said since I have not been eating a lot of meats because my dislocated jaw.I had no direction/diagnosis that I had a TBI until after a year and half after accident. With that being said I was not thinking clear to think about how I would get protein, because I was so much in pain and fighting to get a diagnosis for that year and half. I cannot believe I was not smart enough to start Ensure a long time ago.I guess that is part of my brain impairments

Well obviously being on bed rest for a year and just walking was not using my muscles like last few months of light jogging/walking & physical therapy it made the muscles break down more that resulted in edema.

It all makes sense now because of protein deficiency
1.Hair falling out in winter 2012-2013
2.Always being cold last 9 months
3.Nails breaking past 3 months
4.Cuts/bruises not healing last 3 months
5.craving caffeine last 6 months
6.Craving sweets last 3 months
7.skin ulcers last month
8.sore/weak muscles last 2 weeks

This diagnosis of protein deficiency might of had something to do with my healing resulting in taking longer.I JUST DO NOT UNDERSTAND BECAUSE IN DEC 2012 I GOT EVERYTHING TESTED AND LABS AND THIS DID NOT SHOW UP??????

So now I need to figure out how I am going to get back to where I was or better.ANY IDEAS?

~SO FAR~
1.I am drinking ensure 2times daily...eventually switch to home smoothies with fruits, hemp, and protein.
2.I am doing meats/beans 2times daily
3.I am eating 2 bananas 2times daily also all my other fruits
4.I am drinking a glass of vanilla almond milk before bed with a banana

I hope it does not take me months to bounce back to rehab.Anyone else have any input or suggestions to this
major set back I am experiencing???!!!Help is greatly appreciated

***I go see my OBGYN tomorrow that tested everything in Dec 2012 and everything can back good***And I see PCP on Wed if we cannot get this figured out than I will have to go back to neurologist
Mia
