This chiro 'twist the head and pop the neck' treatment can be too aggressive for some people. There are gentler techniques.
You should ice your neck after any time you get a neck treatment like this.

It's hard to say really, some chiros are very good and some are not so much.
If they take a comprehensive history and ask many questions about how you are feeling, any previous symptoms and then do a careful evaluation before doing any adjustments, they may be one of the better ones. But if they just kind of rush you into adjusting and no real assessment and not x rays at the very least, then I'd pass on ones like that.. But with most head or upper body impacts , some things can be knocked out of alignment and so getting them put back in place would be beneficial. Just be cautious of the ones doing the adjusting, if they seem to rush or be careless avoid those types.

I found that a chiro was much better than physio and massage. I had my neck cracked just once but he usually apply pressure to my neck to bring it back into alignment.
It was amazing because the time he did crack it was because I had a really bad headache and the headache decreased in strength immediately. Good Luck, I hope it works for you.

You could try NUCCA treatment? It's meant to be much gentler.

I had the same experience, I felt it was worth it (I had no increase in symptoms). Though my tip of the day, don't see a physiotherapist, I went to one who, "speacilized," in treating concussion related injuries, and when I got there she asked one of the assistants for the concussion treating guide. It was horrilble.
