Hi.
I am still having spasms from my whiplash injury three plus years later. Upper back, neck pushes out spine if I over use the muscles. Anyone else have it this long? The pain is still excrutiating, MRI still shows reversed cervical curve. Mark, thanks for posting and all your help over the years.Do you recall anyone still having this long term? Any input is appreciated.Thank you. |

What are you doing to protect your spine when you relax and sleep ? It can be quite surprising when one realizes how the relaxed spine can get traumatize during rest.

I did have muscle spasms for a year and half after the initial head injury in the whole upper body & face.I had then had got to a psychiatrist and have to take valium for this reason. I have not had a muscle spasm since.Prior to the valium I had been prescribed every muscle relaxer there is and nothing worked.

I get spasms up and down my spine, worst when I am waking up. I wake up out of a dead sleep to feel spasms from my brain down to my feet. terrifying experience that doctors cannot explain.

MIH,
I am not doing anything special, though I do stay still on my back throughout the night. I had to learn that to keep my head completely still due to pain. I have been so diligent over time with not over using my neck and spine but it seems to have not made a huge difference. I wonder if this nerve pain is permanent or will go away once the spasms abate. It seems to hurt more on my side, do you recommend something else? ALso learned at PT muscle memory, is this just muscle memory and it won't go back to normal? Or muscles still damaged need to heal? Mvita, Sorry about your spasms. I am glad you found relief with relaxers. I unfortunately would get really depressed on them so I had to stop.Must be hard having them upper body and face. markneil. I also get them after a deep sleep sometimes. I had a massage last week that was too rough and woke up screaming in pain. I think that some pressure is wrong on my spine and it causes it. How long since your injury are you? Thank you. |
