Confused Bad night after taking Zoloft

Hi all, hope you having good day.
I recently hit my head again about 3 weeks ago. Since then a few symptoms came back. My anxiety one of them. Saw Dr she gave me some see sertraline.
( Zoloft in USA I believe ) .
I started taking half in the morning, first night difficult to get off to sleep.

Second night, last night same again but then woke up suddenly at 3 am with pounding heart pressure in head feeling dizzy legs and arms heavy, really horrible. Went on for about 20 mins. Got some water and did breathing.

Rang Dr today who suggest I change to mirtazapine.
Well there is no way I'm taking them either.

Wonder if anyone else has had a bad experience with sertraline .?

Think I will stick to my yoga and reflexology .

Thanks for reading

Wish you all a good day

Default Zoloft, yuck

Hi there

I was prescribed that for my insomnia -- but I went in search of answers. I took it one night only and hated it. It gave me full on diarreah and not the "loose stools" as mentioned on the papers. I did not sleep well at all the night I had it and I felt drugged. I **hate** that feeling.

I felt a touch of anxiety with zoloft, and I have had MAJOR anxiety prior to my car accident -- way back in my 20s, and resolved in my 30s.

For me, I have found the supplements of L-theanine and Gabba to help me with anxiety. You can look these up for yourself and see if they work for you.

You might need something stronger though for anxiety. Others here may weigh in with their advice.

For me, anxiety is the devil. It causes insomnia and probably depression for me.

Take care
pm

[SIZE="1"]What happened. I was in a car accident 2-23-2013, and got a mild concussion from it. I had some time off for brain rest, got somewhat better, but slipped into PCS in March 2013.

Symptoms I had: dizziness, light and sound sensitivity, fatigue, tinitis, occasional headaches and migraines,

Symptoms as of 5--2013: poor sleep, tinitis, some confusion /short term memory blanks, balance. The other symptoms are mostly gone, but flare up if I OVERdo something.

Therapy I had: vestibular

3 months in: I could drive more and for longer distances. I felt like a younger, happier version of myself and I feel so blessed to have this feeling.

9 months in and I am working full time. I do get tired, and some sound and light sensitivity from time to time, but mostly I am over most of my symptoms.
I pray every day and I m praying for your recovery.

Over a year in: I can multi task (limited) and have humor in my life. But when I am tired, I am very tired.

I have not had any issues with Zoloft, but I was on it prior to my injury.

I am not fond of taking medication, but amitryptalyne helped me sleep for a few months.

Hope you find what works for you.

Thanks for that , will check it out. Although not keen on meds.
Also I had a bad urine infection , they put me on antibiotics,
So may of been this.
But feeling much better now.
If I can only sort out anxiety, I'm getting there with yoga, reflexology and now doi g sound bath. Which all seem to help.
Hope you are doing ok today and thanks Again
