Hi there.
I had my TBI in January what falling with a horse. The biggest thing that's bothering me now is my eyesight. I have double vision when looking left and right, and up and down. It's also hard looking for items or trying to install new items like a printer. I don't know if this is going to improve or not. I know we are all different but is there anyone out there who knows of corrected vision or balance problems in time. I don't care if it takes me three years but it would be nice to know if I am to accept my vision for ever. Thanks Debbie |

Hello,
Horses, love em but they can sure mess us up.. (minor Concussion as a teen from my best horse buddy) Have you read info about upper cervical adjusting, atlas/ axis, c1 c2 etc? It's done by chiropractors with specialized training - not at all like the general chiro adjustments, upper cervical is very gentle with slight adjustments. some info - www.upcspine.com www.nucca.com or use the forum search link in my siggy to locate more posts here on upper cervical or nucca etc.

Quick note...have you been checked out by a neuro opthamologist?! very important. A huge breakthrough for me in understanding the damage that was done. Prisms in both lenses helped a lot.
Also vestibular assessment. Hang in there!!!!

What happened: Legs pulled forward by a parent's hockey stick while resting at the side of the rink at a family skate....sent me straight back. I hit the back of my head (with helmet) on the ice, bounced a few times, unconscious for a few minutes. September 11, 2011. Off work since then…I work part-time at home when I can. It has been hell but slowly feeling better (when I am alone☺). Current symptoms: Vision problems (but 20/20 in each eye alone!) – convergence insufficiency – horizontal and vertical (heterophoria), problems with tracking and saccades, peripheral vision problems, eyes see different colour tints; tinnitus 24/7 both ears; hyperacusis (noise filter gone!), labyrinthian (inner ear) concussion, vestibular dysfunction (dizzy, bedspins, need to look down when walking); partial loss of sense of smell; electric shocks through head when doing too much; headaches; emotional lability; memory blanks; difficulty concentrating. I still can’t go into busy, noisy places. Fatigue. Executive functioning was affected – multi-tasking, planning, motivation. Slight aphasia. Shooting pain up neck and limited mobility at neck. Otherwise lucky! Current treatments: Vestibular therapy, Vision therapy, amantadine (100 mg a day), acupuncture and physiotherapy for neck, slow return to exercise, magnesium, resveratrol, omega 3 fish oils, vitamins D, B and multi. Optimism and perserverance. |

Yes thanks. They have seen my eyes and have told me I have double vision. Both eyes seem to be working together now but I still get dizzy if walking and move my head around. I am just waiting for someone to tell me that they also had double vision, but are now fine. Please, please so peen tell me!
