Default food sensitivity

Anyone sensitive to certain foods that flare up your symptoms?

When i eat spicy or heavy foods - it seem to flare up my anxiety or panic symptoms (never had this before concussion)

I get heartburn with typical heartburn food. I never had this before PCS. I have anxiety worst when I eat, and the slower I eat the better this is mitigated. Eating and doing something else at the same time causes me symptoms (e.g. watching TV). I didn't like much spice before PCS, even less now. Trying to avoid sugar, but haven't noticed setbacks when I do consume it.

I have not been eating heavy since PCS, so cannot speak to that.

In July 2013 ran into a metal bar at a playground, remained conscious. CT normal. Headache subsided after a week. In August woke with thunderclap-type headache in right side of head, right eye was droopy. Ever since had electrical-type pulsating all over when falling asleep and during sleep. Strong muscle twitching occasionally. Chest pain in heart region, front left neck region, and left shoulder. Strong heartbeat noise in head and occasional weird noises in ears. Taking Gabapentin to control nighttime nerves. Other symptoms: anxiety attacks, goosebumps, fine motor coordination problems, sleep apnea, headaches/migraines, fatigue, unclear thinking.

Update as of Jan. 2015 - almost all symptoms gone except for some tinnitus. Taking good care of myself except sometimes when I overdo it.

HI
Yes I noticed my tasted changed when I first had PCS, and like VB< I now suffer more with heart burn which in turn seems to affect my anxiety.
I don't eat sweet things, never really did before, but they make me feel all wound up like a coiled spring. don't drink coffee or wine any more as same effect.
If I am eating then I cannot do anything else like talk or watch tv, I can only focus on one thing at a time.

Thing are improving, as at the start I could not eat hardly at all and lost over a stone and a half in weight. Thank fully I have put weight back on.
Things will improve over time, as I notice that over the 16 months of my PCS things have gotten better.
I also feel that the body will heal in its own time, you cant hurry it.

So try to stick to what you can eat and enjoy that, there are lots of lovely non spicy foods out there so why not try them. and given time you could try a small piece of your spicy food and see how it goes.

Good luck, the main thing is be positive, and focus on what does work for you..

Take Care and take your time
