Hello, I have been seeing a neurologist and neuropsychologist at the National Rehabilitation Hospital in DC, as well as undertaking rehab for balance, saccadic eye movement, and exercise intolerance. I think this has been helping, but has anyone else in the area tried something different?

I tried seeing a neurologist at GW, but they were terrible...offered almost no useful information, and was just told to rest.

My injury was about one year ago, and I'm still dealing with PCS. Anyways, I'm curious if people have tried other options in the area. In general, the people at NRH have been great, and I highly recommend them, but just want to explore my options.

You are on the other side of the US from us.

Daughter went to Stanford and they started treating her with acupuncture. This really helped her immediately. Her headaches would be after she got her treatments. We are now seeing a dr in town.

If you don't get any specific recommendations here another option could be to reach out to the Brain Injury Association of DC, they may have lists of neurologists and other medical practitioners that specialize in brain injury. They may also have support groups which may be a source for referrals.

Did you see the article on Brianna Scurry's (former professional soccer player) PCS recovery in the Post? She lives in DC and has been actively rehabbing her injury but I don't know all the doctors she has used. I think her vision Doc was Dr. Smithson in Northern |VA. I think Brianna has started a website or Facebook page. Too bad about GW.
