Default Acupuncture, healthy diet, and rest a key to success

Hi everyone, 1 year and 4 months ago I sustained a concussion sparring in a kickboxing match that left me unconscious and seizing. Up until a month ago, I suffered from extremely strange concussive symptoms which include: pressure sensations within my head, sensitivity to certain scents(cigarette smoke especially), sensitivity to alcohol and caffeine, and tension migraines without pain. These symptoms truly crippled my life, making each day a depressing existence. Luckily, through the help of this forum and my own efforts, I am m completely healed with no haunting symptoms to remind me of this terrible experience. I owe my healing to the following:

1. Proper amount of sleep along with naps during the day if possible
2. Healthy diet including lots of protein and vegetables. Start juicing with vegetables
3. Drink A LOT of water to constantly flush out toxins
4. Take a strong multivitamin daily
5. Acupuncture with Chinese herbs
6. Homeopathy: (Arnica Montana, Natrum Sulphuricum
7. MOST IMPORTANT IS TO REMAIN POSITIVE! Find some way to relax yourself and relieve your anxiety. Stress is not good for healing!

I STRONGLY recommend being open to trying acupuncture simultaneously with Chinese herbs. They were truly the the major proponent in my recovery. Of course, I would definitely say your best bet is to find a well reputable Chinese medicine practitioner to perform the acupuncture, rather than just some random quack. Same goes for homeopathy, do not attempt to self medicate. Although safe, your best bet to getting healed is to be prescribed the correct remedy that fits your symptoms and body. The two remedies i mentioned above(natrum sulph. and arnica) were prescribed for me and I certainly recommend consulting with a licensed homeopath before self prescribing.

For all of you out there who have lost hope, at one point I was there too. Just know that it is possible to heal COMPLETELY, take this message as living proof.

Best of luck to you all and G-d bless

Glad to hear you are doing well.

Have you ever looked into the specs of homeopathic Arnica Montana ? The common formula is so diluted that it is equal to an Olympic size pool of water with a single molecule of Arnica Montana.

Never discount the value of the placebo effect. Some studies show that the placebo effect can benefit 60% of patients.

Wiki explains homeopathic dilutions at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homeopathic_dilutions

The placebo effect can be strong with concussion since belief in healing can reduce stress levels that leads to the brain having a better chance to heal.

Hi willgetbetter,

For the first two months after my concussion, I really never changed my schedule. I started experiencing post concussive symptoms around the 3rd month after my concussion. I did not limit myself in my activities other than those involving alcohol and physical contact. I began taking more naps and relaxing. I as well kept a steady workout routine throughout my whole experience. I noticed that I had gotten exponentially better around 8 months after this whole ordeal. Acupuncture is what I truly believe helped me get back to being completely normal. My headaches began to reduce in severity first and that was the biggest accomplishment. You can see all most post concussive symptoms above in my original post

Good luck.
