Does anyone else out there have problems with their pituitary gland? I've recently been diagnosed with a pituitary adenoma, I wonder if there is a correlation with concussion?

The concussion I sustained caused my pituitary glad to malfunction.

An adenoma is different though.

The latest concussion research is demonstrating that many concussion survivors who do not get better in the first year have pituitary damage or dysfunction as a result of the concussion.

I am taking supplemental hormones that are helping me to function much better.

I was diagnosed after stimulation testing was completed almost three years after the MVA I was in that caused the concussion.

I just got my hormone levels tested at Rush Hospital. I'm actually hoping that they come back low since that means I may see improvement through hormone replacement therapy. The downside is insurance doesn't cover since its not deemed essential for living and cost 1k/month.

My wife thinks I'm crazy that I would hope for something to be wrong with me. I'd pay anything(go into debt) if it meant a substantial increase in quality of life. It's impossible to convey this to anyone that hasn't had a TBI and a waste of energy attempting to do so.

I haven't heard from you for a while, Today is Tomorrow, I was hoping you were all healed! Sorry you are not. I know what you mean, I viewed the pituitary adenoma as good news because maybe there is something that will help.
