Default Odd test.

I had my neuro appointment today and they did some really weird testing. They put a laser on the wall and had me look through a pair of glasses at it. They then would quickly move by head a bit to one side. Then back I Center, then to the right. I had to look at the dot the whole time.

I thought was was a bit too rough as it caused a brutal headache but does anyone know what they were testing for?

I had a similar thing several times when I had Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy. Did you ask them to explain?

Did something kind of similar at University of Buffalo concussion clinic but mine was with a laser attached to s headband and I had to aim it at a bulls eye on the wall with my head, close my eyes turn all the way to the left and try to turn back with my eyes still closed and center the laser back to the bulls eye. Then same on the right. I did it fine on one side and failed the right side (my main neck injury side). They said it tested my proprioception from my neck and maybe my ocular vestibular system. It's all so interwoven and complex.

Did you ask?

sounds a lot like a part of the VNG testing I had done. The Neurotolaryngologist
I saw did many many more. I was quite ill but it was the defining point of is it my eyes, ears, or brain causing my symptoms.

those glasses in most cases have cameras in them and the way your eyes respond to the movements give them a lot of information.
