Default fell again

Today I was walking downstairs and my over exuberant animals rushed by. I am not sure if one caught my pant leg or i just lost my balance but down i went. I hit the right side of my head on thhe wall and the back off of at least two steps. I feel like crap, not that it is much different from any other day.......dang wonder how far this is going to set me back. I am just venting thanks for listening!

You truly have my sympathy, and I hope this is just a minor speed bump in your recovery.

But dang I hate stairs. A similar thing happened to me except I made the mistake of walking down the stairs when I was very drowsy in the morning - haven't done that since.

So yesterday I spent the entire day in bed and slept a lot. Today I am dizzier than I have been even with nice dose of klonapin I take daily and shaky on my feet. A small bump on the side of the ole bean and the back is a bit sore, along with my back and bum LOL... Gotta find some humor in it right?

Laura,

Why are you taking 'a nice dose of Klonopin daily,' especially if it makes you dizzy ? Could you reduce your dose or take something that does not make you dizzy ?

It is for my dizziness and veritgo, i have a bad balance sensor in my left ear. I was taking meclizine it quit working. Any and all motion with my head or eyes makes me ill. I could not even complete my vestibular therapy program after three attempts.

Sadly i feel worse today, pressure in my head and every little thing is an extreme effort. Just went back to bed, writing from my phone n its hard to look at so i bid you good night.

What are the chances.....I was not feeling any better so Monday I called the office of my PMR who is out of the country left a message and figured it is a clinic someone else would call me back.....no return call. The next day my very upset husband left a message too.

In hope of help I called my neurologist, spoke to her nurse she said wow a lot has been going on with you I see from your charts and your doctor is on vacation you should contact your concussion specialist. I told her well she is on Maternity leave and I have not yet seen her covering doctor. she told me to call anyhow.

I called my Concussion Doctor's office who had the other doctors office call me. Same group but a different secretary. They told me to call my PCP but I said I would but you folks haf not sent her any reports so she is not well informed on what has been happening. So she then said to call my my PMR...LOL I started from the beginning angain so she called them and I got a call in 15 minutes from a snippy nurse who told me to go to the urgent care.

I hate run around especially when I dont feel well. They called the next day to see if I went I said no they told me to go to the ER.

So I called my PCP and explained the whole thing to her and asked her advice......Do you think it is the increased Klonopin or from hitting my head? she said hitting your head and take the Klonopin and go to the er get a cat scan to make sure you do not have a slow bleed.

Last night when my hubby came home from work we went to the ER, I was examined, given a "migraine cocktail" and they were going to send me home. I had to tell them my PCP wanted me to have a cat scan and why before they did it and then said I am fine and sent me home.

What a waste of time and guess what I still feel like crap........
it would be my luck I would get hurt and ALL of the doctors looking after me are gone and my PMR can go jump in a lake I may just never go back to that office again. It is one of the doctors above him I will be seeing for my neck we will be having a chat! This is not the first time there have been issues with him or his office.

Please send calming peaceful thoughts my way .......I am way more worked up than I need to be and just can not let it go, I hurt to bad and it seems no body can take the pain away. Today is day 438 with headache.

for you Laura.

Sending lots of good thoughts your way.

I can empathize with the long term head pain. My fall happened Feb 19 2012 and I've not had a single day, a single moment without head pain since, always at least a 5 or 6 out of 10, higher if I over did it... and in October 2013 it increased dramatically, always at a 8 or 9 out of 10 and hasn't let up no matter how much I rest in a dark room or what drugs they give me. Its brutal and exhausting and disheartening because my rehab doc has given up on treating it and we're waiting on the neurologist to see me in JULY!

So I understand a little bit how you're feeling... like no one can or will help you and you're suffering and the doctors are failing you and wasting your time.

But being worked up only adds to the pain and stress that your body is already under, so try to be kind to yourself and let some of it go... I do know how hard it is.

You're not alone.

What are the chances ALL my regular doctors would be away at the same time and I would hit again. Initial hit 1-20-2013 passed out Easter Sunday 2013 2nd hit and this fall...yea 3 whacks at once. I honestly thought my butt took the brunt of the abuse and the new higher dose of Klonopin was making me ill. I cut the dose back to half a mg a day like I was taking but it did not help. That is when I reached out for help and the whole mess began.

That's pretty unfortunate.

I fell down the stairs as well during my recovery but I did not hit my head, I just kind've slid down on my back.

Ugh I'm so sorry. I've had one bad relapse three months after my original injury when I lightly tapped my forehead on a tree (don't ask, it was from putting my daughter in the car next to a small tree) and that one set me back, in fact I haven't yet gone back to my previous level since and that was six weeks or so now. But I've also gotten little dings from my 17 month old son knocking me with a toy or his own head and I worried a ton about those but they didn't do anything. So long story just to say don't worry, you can't tell yet if this will relapse or worsen and chances are it won't. You can't change it either. But look into the meds making you dizzy - you don't want to fall again. Feel better
