The pressure in my head is moving.
It was originally very bad where I fell, on the right side of my head and face. It still hurts there at times, but now it usually hurts above the spot where I fell. I am also experiencing pressure on top of my head, as well as in the back of my head. Most of the pressure is located on the very top of my head. The part with my hair, not my forehead. I don't even know if "pressure" is the correct way to describe it. It burns at times, and I constantly feel something there. Almost like my head has fallen asleep or someone is squeezing a rope around my scalp. It occasionally tingles or stings, but generally, it's just a feeling of...I don't even know. Being swollen, maybe? If I touch the top of my head, it is extremely tender. It hurts to brush my hair or wash my hair. My right ear hurts now, too...but I'm wondering if maybe that is something unrelated. I am holding off on being concerned about that for the moment. I feel pressure in my ear, and sometimes it rings. It feels like somebody is pressing down on it, and it hurts behind my ear, too. Is this something to be concerned about, or is normal for the pain to migrate to a new location? I don't go back to the doctor for about a month. |

I forgot to mention this before, but I have been working a bit more than usual lately. I went from writing 2 articles a day to 3 articles a day. Not sure if that could have caused the pain to migrate?
(these are very short articles, so I am still only putting in an hour or two of work each day) |

I experience different head pain. Sometimes I feel like a tight head pressure in the top like you are wearing a small cap. I have stabbing pains in my head. I have pins and needle pain. I have the back of my head being sore so that lying on my pillow hurts.
I also have a lot of issues with my ears, ringing, sore ears that feel like they should pop. Similar to being on a plane. I have never link a certain pain with an activity. One doctors says the ear pain and discomfort is coming form my neck. Hope you feel better.

Hi Guys,
I used to get crushing pain in my head for the first six months post injury, and this was horrible - my doctor didn't explain what it was but lots of people on here had it. It got worse if I over exerted myself. Likewise I had very bad migrainous headaches and noise/light sensitivity which was relieved by a combination of Cymbalta and Sumatripan. I also got the most dreadful sinus pain, tootache and earache. Nearly a year and a half on a new doctor has diagnosed me with Neuralgia and this is partially controlled by Lyrica, Cymbalta and a Tryciclic Antidepressant. Things do get better and I have been working full time for over a year. I still have bad toothache (had both of my back molars removed - possibly needlessly), pain in jaw/cheek, temple and earache. It is there every day now and moves from one place to another. At one point I thought I was cured, but perhaps my head trauma has given me long term symptoms. However the majority of people recover fully - so keep this in mind.

Have either of you had a VNG or your. Ears checked? My concussion also damaged my inner ear.

I haven't. Who can check that? Do I need a specialist, or can I mention it to any of my doctors?

Some ear Doctors do VNG's, I was lucky enough to have one near me that did, but he suggested sending me to have more advanced testing done. But if your ear is bothering you, I would see an ear doctor or ENT just to make sure all is good there. A VNG tests my neurologist has given me with my migraines and my concussion to see if maybe the problem was coming from my ears or eyes and not my brain. You can google it there are videos that show what they do.

Yes, definitely get your ears/eyes checked.
After my concussion I was told there was something wrong with my right eye...can't remember medical term...I went to OT which helped, and also vestibular therapy, had severe head pressure and pain, was explained to me that everything is connected. I'd talk to your Dr about seeing maybe an OT or ENT for testing? It was an OT who found my problem. I also had severe head pressure, mostly on the top of my head, it felt like my brain was swelling. Don't know if you'll need a referral from your Dr to see a specialist but with my insurance I have to. Feel better... |
